Wyrm Egg Convention limits?

Look at it thus way for us con goers, while price did go up for s&h, con prices themselves are going up. I'll be attending all 3 days of anthrocon 2013, and since I'm a Pittsburgh native ill be commuting every day. So lets factor in my own costs to attend, $50 pre-registration, plus parking Friday will be $13 sat n sun $5 per day; given the garage I use. So far we're at $73 bucks. And we're not even touching gas for my car much less other expenses food + spending money. For others it's some of the above costs plus hotel costs. Not to mention whatever it cost them to get there,( i have a friend who flys in from ENGLAND)

If Someone is throwing down that much to even show up, or even to those who attended fur fright and got those limited zombie wyrms? *thumbs up* you deserve them. It's no easy feat or cost to attend, so if going to these cons grants the congoers access to limited edition con-only wyrms I have no issue with it, and like with Rii'haku (con only) and Tiri (auction) if I want one so bad I'll figure out how to get a breeding from them!

While I don't pick up wyrms for people (sans my brother owner of Amethyst), I know that I would be willing to help others get breedings or try to arrange breedings with a wyrm I got if it turned out limited, within reason of course.

While it may seem unfair to those that don't attend its not like its extremely easy for con goers to get there THEN spend more money. So yea, if they are the ones that get the limited edition wyrms I support that. I got MOST of my wyrms from FA:U and have missed ALL of the online batches. I don't mind it though.

So maybe a good compromise would be to have certain conventions Wyrms LE for that particular convention, but to also have a few online only kinds of Wyrms posted occasionally for those who can't attend conventions. This way, everyone has the chance to snag an extra special Wyrm, regardless of their location or ability to travel to conventions.

For example, the Tesla Wyrms were an Anime Boston thing, since there is a decent chunk of Steampunk cosplayers that attend. I may actually have that be a tradition, and do another Tesla clutch at AB this year.

I truly wish I were faster, but I've never been the speediest artist. And with the addition of the little one, my work time is limited to when Grandma can watch her, or daddy is wrangling her. Or naps. Ah, sweet, sweet, nap time.

(Case in point, we are going to grandmas today, and while I answer emails and forum posts, she is tormenting our ever patient and sweet dog, Jacob, by tackle-snuggling him. Aaaaand as I type this, I had to stop and remove my contact lens case, which she had taken off my nightstand, from her mouth. Siiiiiiiiggggghhhhhh.......)

Ahem. Anyway, my point is, I'm doing all the work you guys actually see (the Wyrms, the conventions, online sales, responding to questions online, etc) but I am also doing the work you don't see....maintaining a home, caring for animals, cooking for myself and the husband so he's not eating fast food during his lunch breaks at work, and, above all else, being a new mom. A baby is in and of itself like working a full time job, tons of pvertime and with no days off. Don't get me wrong, I adore our munchkin beyond the moon and stars, but she IS a high energy little ball of mischief. So my ability to produce art is directly effected by how much I can get done when I'm not chasing after her. We're it not for Zia doing all she does, I'd probably never have stuff ready in time for conventions! The cards alone would take hours to finish, and that would cut into making Wyrm time. Plus, with the addition of a seamstress, I can now have pre-sewn bodies ready for me to attach to the heads. It's all about balancing as much efficiency as possible into the hours I have to work with.

Aaaaand this post is super long, and "someone" is crawling into mommy's lap for cuddle. Gotta go all. Thank you again for the feedback, it helps us improve the way things are handled and do our best to make the game fun for you all!

I really enjoy the convention themed wyrms and it would be awesome if more Tesla's were brought in. I don't think anyone means to come off naggy so I hope you don't take it that way we all appreciate the work you do and know how busy you are~ you are doing more than most would by talking to your customers and working out a compromise on top of everything else. Oh gosh no! It would come across as naggy if people were whining, or I hadn't asked! I WANT to hear from my Handlers! It's the community and awesome people in it thats made this such a success...and to my mind, the way to have it continue to be so is to hear from you all! Your thoughts and opinions are important to me. And like I said, while we might not be able to please everyone with every choice, getting feedback is what helps ME improve, both as an artist, and as someone trying to create/run an adoptable breeding game like this.

And my comments weren't intended to come across as angry or defensive, I just know not everyone is aware of the fact that I'm still a fairly new mom with a energetic toddler to watch over. I figured reminding folks that my days are VERY full might help explain that while sometimes it takes a while for me to gt back to people, or post pics, or whatever, there's usually a pretty good reason for it beyond my control. ;3

As Zoe gets older, it will get easier. She'll be more self entertaining, read books, work on crafts with mommy, and eventually go to kindergarten. Right now shes at the stage where shes into eeeeeeverything when not being watched, and she's frighteningly mobile. Actually, last night she managed to clamber up on the living room couch on her own! I nearly had a heart attack when she giggled at me. Even when watching her, taking my eyes off her for a split second usually results in her booking for the staircase and starting to scoot upstairs to my art room (locked) or the bathroom to practice her new favorite trick....flushing the toilet. Repeatedly. >~<'

Speaking as someone located in Canada, I love the idea of International clutches being released on line. My problem tends to be catching the timing of them, due to conflict with classes. Or the fact that I can't get to conventions. Either way, the egg limit seems to be an excellent idea too. It's endlessly frustrating to see a large clutch of wyrms go up and then only end up having a portion of that clutch actually registered into the game. Maybe a buy-limit would help towards fixing that?

I'd love to see International clutched online (even better; overseas clutches) so that I can get a chance at one of these. Maybe you could also do a clutch of about ten 'pick-up' wyrms at cons, for people who can't make it themselves. I understand why people wouldn't want limits, but at the same time, there's no way I can fly from Africa out to a con ^^

This is a great Idea. I am intending to pick up eggs at Anthrocon for multiple people.

5 eggs a day is very reasonable, at anthrocon that would be 20eggs >.< way more then anyone should be buying for themselves

It would actually be 15 eggs, since the dealers room is only open fri-sun, and selling stuff OUTside the dealer's room is an excellent way to get on the bad side of a certain cockroach chairman.....which I have no plans on doing.
