Wyrm Damage

Hey guys sorry to be the bearer of bad news but my fantail, Malbec has her jaw completely chewed off by one of my mother's cats. I'm sure some of us in the past have had injuries dealt to our wyrms by pets. Just curious how she should be repaired.

Sorry to hear about the damage on your Wyrmy friend.

It really depends on the sort of damage.
Wyrms with broken horns can be repaired fairly simply with a bit of glue.

However, Wyrms who are chewed on by pets are more difficult of an issue.

We've had issues in the past where owners have reported Wyrms being completely eaten/destroyed by pets, and unfortunately we can't replace them.
We do give them the option of retaining that Wyrm's breedings as if it were still in one piece, that way they can breed an 'offspring'.
Otherwise, the Wyrm in question can also be retired as 'deceased' in the great battle with the 'feline dominion'.

One of my own Wyrms has some minor damage such as a couple of teethmarks and a nommed-on tail, and essentially I treat them as her 'battle scars'.

I can't tell from your description just how severe the damage is.

My suggestion is to take a photo of the damage, send it to dwalkerart @ gmail and see what she thinks.

The poor baby! :/ How bad is the damage, and do you still have the piece? Pics? Not sure if she's salvageable, tbh, since the polymer clay has to be baked and obviously the fur wouldn't hold up to it (possibly Amazing Sculpt or Apoxie Sculpt could work). D's got a few wyrms listed as "Deceased" for pet damage reasons...

OTOH maybe you could get a new jaw made by the Teslas or something, haha. :> That would have some interesting story potential...

I'll send the pictures off to her. I have some air dry clay so I may sculpt her a new jaw just so she looks complete. I'm adding the photos to this post as well. (Her top horn got knocked off when I dropped her by accident when bringing her over for her picture, I have the proper glue to fix that though!)

Yikes.

Yeah, honestly that is one I'd mark as unrepairable without either completely redoing her head, or sculpting a new bottom jaw on with an apoxie, air dry clay or somesuch, which would obviously then need to be painted. The trouble is, even if I could resculpt a bottom jaw on, there's still all the teeth marks to try and patch up. It would be easier to cut the head free from the fur and redo an entirely new head.

I had a cat whose hobby was to find something destroyable and destroy it...very...VERY...slowly.
We'd find her sitting in the middle of my woven throw blanket carefully pulling out a single string at a time, so the entire blanket would bunch up and the one string would eventually tear off...start over...still have that blanket, but it has a bunch of pulls and missing strings.
I caught her tearing a newspaper into very long strips of shredded paper, again very slowly (rrrrrrriiiiiiiiiippppp), repeat over and over until she ran out of whole paper.
I don't figure either of those was tasty either, but...I guess it did something interesting?! <XD
