On licensed characters......."inspired by" or "themed" is one thing. Copying character designs is entirely another. I will NOT allow Wyrms that are ripping off other's copyrighted designs. So, for example...
Castiel Wyrm.....has enochian script, colors are based off Cas's trenchcoat and outfit, has facial stubble.....but has gems in the head, has silver tipped wings.....basically, a fan creation that is loosely based off the character, but not copying the demon warding symbol, not claiming ownership of the character Castiel the angel, etc etc.
Its kind of a fine line, and one I'd really rather not cross. To be honest I think the Supernatural themed Wyrms from this point on will be done to raise money for our Random Acts fundraiser.
Doing say, a Beast Wyrm thats copying Disney's design for the Beast? Noooooo go. Actually, anything Disney is pretty much off the table, as they are very protective of their copyright. Same with Nyan Cat, or specific designs that are copyrighted/protected. I can't very well expect others to respect my copyrights if I don't offer the same professional courtesy. Besides, stealing other's ideas or designs is just.....tacky, and rude.
But basic stuff, like say, the Snow White legend, or Greek gods, or generalized themes, is fine.
I KNOW everyone likes fan characters, but we want to tread carefully, and not step on anyone's toes. ;3
