Okay so cross-breeding mixes the traits of the breed. I'll mix http://twilightdays.org/wyrmwiki/index.php/Snaggle (a growler) with http://twilightdays.org/wyrmwiki/index.php/Pepper (a platinum point) for this.

Snaggle has
Genetics: rryYbB (he's green. he has no red gene, yY for yellow, and bB for blue)
Features:
Plating (XX)
FL Ears (xx)
Benign White (xX)

Pepper has
Genetics: RRyybb (she's red. she has RR for red and yy and bb for the others)
Features:
Horns (XX)
Plating (XX)
Crystal (XX)

So just looking at it straight off, we can safely assume the XX traits will pass on. So your baby will have plating of some type since both show it. (Either growler or platinum point style.) You will get horns and a crystal as well. NOW we get tricky. It could pass on the Benign White and ears but they're far less likely. Traits that aren't showing up genetically strong like that just depend on the dice roll. For the probability of these rolls you'll want to run them through the wyrm mixer (http://twilightdays.org/WyrmHandler/WyrmMixer.php) and/or punnet squares.

Same with colour. I made an example of a punnet square which shows ONE part of the colour gene. Then you take the different combos and put them together to see examples of the colours your breeding will give you. http://i.imgur.com/guT2Ybr.png (I put Snaggle as the top of the square and Pepper as the side.)


Other handlers should feel free to chime in. Genetics are hard to explain. ^^; It may also benefit you to google basic biology stuff related to the use of punnet squares.

Yes. Especially since it's hard to show detail on a teacup's head. However you could get the offspring with plating, a platinum point's nose horn, and have it be a carrier for ears. Which means it won't show but your wyrm could pass the ears to others if re-exposed to the trait (say bred back to a growler.)

At the next open breeding season, you could ask two of the Growler owners to let you breed their Wyrm's together so that you get your own purebred Growler. Most handlers here are happy to let others use their wyrms, unless they are super rare, or are close to capping out on their breeding limits.

A *really* good example to show how different traits show up is to look at Rill (Gem Horn) x Ginger (Growler)'s babies. The two siblings look very little like each other in traits, but both have a mix of Mom and Dad's looks. Cloudburst doesn't have ears or horns, but did inherit Rill's crystal.
