We all have a little hometown pride, lets share some fun or interesting facts about where we are!
and feel free to boast here, go wild.
I'm here in Pittsburgh pa, home of sports, food, and movies. a LOT of movies. and zombies.

The last batman film was filmed here. The stadium is the Heinz Stadium, the reason the teams colors where black and gold is due to the fact locals -fans where all the extras in the stadium, and thus being Steelers fans wore black and gold. All the Gotham football players where actually PIttsburgh Steelers. The player who ran the goal and survived was Hines Ward.

In the last winter Olympics and in that year's NHL playoffs. The pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup.. the winning goal was from Sidney Crosby...and in the winter olympics when Team canada won? Sidney Crosby once again scored the winning goal. Though the poor kid has had bad luck recently with his recengt recovery of a major concussion and now a broken jaw.

We also have the lovely Pittsburgh Pirates, who apperently excell in losing games. But the city loves the team no matter what, and everyone just goes to see that silly Parrot mascot and the infamous Perogi Race. yes people dress up as food and run around the feild..

But we have ZOMBIES! George Remero is a local and he doe slove his city!
NIght of the Living dead, filmed in Evans City PA. Dawn of the Dead filmed in the Moneroville Mall in Pittsburgh pa. Day of the dead filmed in the Wampum Mines here in PA while being 'placed' in Ft. Myers FL. Land of the Dead filmed in Canada, placed in Downtown Pittsburgh.

-my brother met some of the hunters who where extras in the first film, they where paid in beer.

We also have.. the Amish. let's not get into them. They are not what TV shows you.. at all.

For some odd reason this city has Dinosaur statues everywhere, and spray painted yoshi eggs. We are also the happy home of ANTHROCON the worlds largest furry convention.

We also have 3 rivers, and. Pittsbughize.

We have Tunnels that people drive super slow into, and bolt out the other side. Never ending road construction, winter that only ends when road work begins. A city that was actually several small communities around a bunch of hills that people attempted to make roads for and ended up in a maze that can only SORTA be corrected bya GPS. just becareful its the one way streets that will get yea.

Lotsa of Bridges, LOTS OF BRIDGES. and traffic. GPS is highly needed to get around this city and not end up crazy or crying.

Okay hmm... well my city is 50 square miles of trees. I live in the New Jersey pine barrens and it's really common to walk down the street and see deer. A lot of us own horses too and ride western pleasure out on the trails. There are trails that connect a lot of the roads so you could ride your horse from your back yard to some one else's house if you knew how to get there.

We have one of the last remaining one room school houses in NJ called the Risley School. It's closed a lot of the time and only open when the Historical Society opens it, but it's pretty neat. I used to have a scrapbooking class in there. It's filled with historical stuff like old horse shoes etc. that pertain to the town. We've got a tiny population (like a little over 1,000 people) but a lot of space. Our city is only a city by area, not by population. It's also over two underground rivers.

We have a really cool park which is also large. There are a lot of playgrounds, hiking trails, fishing docks, a nature center, and even a boardwalk. I used to have "nature camp" in the nature center where I'd go there for a week and learn about local animals. It was flipping awesome. I also used to teach some girlscout stuff there.

Basically that's all I can think of. If you're into forests, lots of space, and nature it's a pretty nice place.

My hometown is pretty lame. Rostov-on-Don - it's not a big town, it's not a tourist town, it's just a big river port between south and middle parts of the country. It has no good shops, no fun places to go, looks like everything most of the citizens do is sell and buy stocks, because there is no actual merchandise to buy, only the most 100% popular stuff, which is boooring.((
And it's the town that hates animals. We have no vet or even biology universities, BUT we have a country's central taxidermist association office. Even country-wise yearly taxidermist expo is hosted here. This town likes dead animals more than alive.(((

Other fact is that our region is taking first place in the world in... the biggest maniac quantity. Russia's most known maniac was from here. A so-so achievement I must say.

But we have an ancient city Tanais nearby. It's said to be one of the ancient mysteries. It has melted stones, like it was destroyed by a nuclear bomb a thousand years ago. We even have some standing stones from the tribes that lived around Tanais at that time, right within our town. I dont know if they're real or replicas, but they are cool. x3 I hope I can take a pic of Shasty on one in the local park.

Well, Calgary's not where I grew up, but it is where I've been living for the past four years. It's a nice place and recently wrapped up a year-long stint as Canada's Cultural Capital. One of the main things I love about it is the fact that I can actually take transit places. The town I grew up in didn't even have a bus service and STILL doesn't. This is a better city to live in, especially because of the art school I go to. My wheelthrowing instructor recently got a Governor General Award for his work, so that's pretty cool.

Calgary is also the inspiration behind the name for my stable project, Chinook Hills. We're in what is essentially a desert area about two hours away from the Rockies, which creates chinook winds, weird weather patterns and many instances of migraines in the population.
