Plumed gem hunters, being forest Wyrms, prefer lush green forests and thick wooded areas for their native habitat. Areas that have native semi precious stones are ideal, as their forehead gem is influenced by what native stones are in the immediate vicinity to their egg's hatching. For example, some of our local CT gem hunters tend to have orange or red gems, as garnet can be found in many places. They hoard shiny gemstones, be they precious or semi precious. Each hunter has a favorite gem, which usually corresponds with their own gem. It acts as a sort of 'third eye' and senses the presence of similar gems. We aren't entirely sure HOW, yet, and the gem hunters aren't talking... ;3
Obviously their plumed tails are a grooming magnet, and they love being groomed by prospective mates. Its a bonding experience, and seems to relax them when they are stressed.
Flickerlings are, as most fairy Wyrms tend to be, a tad mischievous. Being Seelie fae, they are not nasty, but definitely enjoy a good chuckle, usually at their handler or fellow Wyrm's expense. Having inherent magic, they are able to influence the growth of plants, and SOME have been know to be able to control small amounts of a single element, though this ability is rare. Having a densely planted, healthy garden is a sure fire way to make a Flickerling happy, as they are omnivores with a tendency to target pesky insects, such as aphids or slugs. Berries are also a highly sought after treat.
Oh no, definitely not! The Asian influence is found throughout the Lung type. They don't necessarily speak in haikus, though they ARE very thoughtful, and when they do speak it tends to be thought out and the words chosen with care. They have a great deal of honor, and consider breaking a promise or oath tantamount to the foulest betrayal. If one says they are going to do something, and does not fufill their promise, most Lung breeds will 'shun' that person or Wyrm until they make amends. (This can be anything from a cold shoulder, to totally ignoring the existence of the offending party. The Fu's tend to be the worst about this, and will go to great lengths to make the 'oath breaker' feel as though they are the worst and most unworthy creature in existence....all without saying a single word. )
Most of the Lung breeds enjoy gardening to some degree, though the Gao are incredibly adept at creating beautiful mini zen gardens in the smallest patch of sand. We think it has something to do with their extra sensory abilities. The intricate patterns of swirls they manage with nothing more than a bit of twig are a marvel to behold.
Soul names are special. Each and every Wyrm HAS one, but most of them never ever discover it. The reason for this is that each soul name comes in two parts....and unless a Wyrm finds their soul mate, their name remains hidden deep within their consciousness. When a Wyrm pair DO find their soulmate, its unmistakeable. They are drawn to each other, and as near as I can translate from the squeaks and meeps, it's like a door within their mind opens, and they simply.....know. The names themselves are simply the vocal expression of the feeling.
Thus far the Heartmated pairs we know of have all had gaelic soul names.....though I have to assume there are some that get their verbal equivalent in other old languages. It wouldn't surprise me to see Heartmated pairs with Aramaic, enochian, or Latin names.
I DO know Heartmated pairs are VERY rare.
