But wont it be nice to have at least one plain, simple breed? Just one out of 20 something?.. If you want something a bit more OOMPH, just dont breed a pure leaf crawler, add some fancier breeds in. Want horns - mix in a horned breed, want fancy marking - throw in a Lace or Pitch Black parent. That's what the breeding aspect is for, isnt it? But if you want a plain and "naked" wyrm, more snake-like and more cuddleable (you cant freely cuddle things that have sharp horns on them xP) it's quite not possible if even the simpliest of breeds, leaf crawlers, get additional non-trait things to make them more detailed!
What I suggest is more balance in breeds. While fancy and detailed breeds are awesome (I do love horns myself, my favorite breed is a Mushroom Gatherer), it's not really fair if they take up all 100% of breeds variety; there are people who would like simple, plain things, Im sure Im not the only one, but it's not possible if all standards are very fancy and detailed - especially when those fancy details are non-trait and thus impossibile to breed out when unwanted!
There is a way to please everyone on the matter of designs - it's to make it possible to achieve any design a user might like. But for that, all traits should be marked as trait to be breedable\outbreedable, and none set by default "just for better appearance" to be present in every case (that's what upsets me most about LC's standard horns - no trait, how do I get rid of those if there is no trait to breed out? T_T I cant just request "follow the trait list exactly, no additional appearance enhancements", too.). What's better appearance for one, is worse for another, and etc. But if it's possible to change via breeding, like having a set trait to breed out, everyone can achieve the looks they want and be happy.
