Cyber Monday Question to Handlers

I wouldn't mind if they went completely digital but I'd like to know the traits/colours if possible ^^ The registry can take a little while and sometimes for breeding projects and goals, I really need to know the colour genetics simply so I know who I can cross to get the desired outcomes ^^;

Huh.

Would people care overmuch if we did digital cards exclusively? It would actually be kinda a nice step in making the game more 'green', since we wouldn't be wasting paper and plastic sleeves. Those who WANT printed ones could print them, and I could offer sleeves at conventions of online in packs of 25-50 for those who want them. (I'd just ask for what they cost me, so like .50 for 25 or $1 for 50. Local comic book store has 100 packs for $2)

Yes, though you'd still have to figure out a nice way to let blind draws know what sex their beeb is. Maybe a blue or red mark on the bag they come in?

Plus if they're bred babies we'd have no idea what genes they have/carry. I've been waiting to see mine's cards, but if you drew a wyrm at a convention with a not so obvious new gene or a obvious new gene people would have no idea what they are. (considering if they are also new) I prefer making things easier for new handlers since I myself do not go to conventions even if I did i'd still prefer cards. Since even if more wyrms are made it doesn't garentee you'll end up with more then whats allowed. ...Also as I realized, you'd likely forget what your wyrm is called if you were new without a card. It'd make it harder to find the forum too.

Although im not sure what you guys did end up doing about the issue where new handlers had problems finding the forum and couldn't register.

When we have someone who lets us know they are a new Handler, I make sure they take one of the mini cards that gives the site for registration. Those who couldn't register, it was an issue with gmail emails. And that problem Zia and Mercutio were already made aware of.

Maybe physical cards for "wild" wyrms (i.e. convention stock) and digital-only for bred and online? So long as there's some kind of note on the wyrm registry that that particular wyrm didn't have a card, there wouldn't be a concern about not shipping it for a later trade or sale.

As far as new handlers finding the registry, why not just modify the card format a little and highlight the URL of the site right on the front (maybe caption underneath/above "register me at:")? Or get a custom rubber stamp made and stamp the back, something like "I'm a wild wyrm! Register me at http://www.cruinndracfarms.com" or whatever. The little cards are good too (I've been giving them to new people when they see mine at done) but I do wonder if because they're so small and a separate piece that they may be too easy to lose?

Anyhow, without a physical card, how will heartmates and whatnot come up? I'd hope it wouldn't end the possibility of finding more of those...

I'm one of the odd ones who likes to have the physical cards. I keep them all together in a Baggie with my egg necklace.
I am in favor of digital cards too, if I could get instructions on how to print them out so they're all the same size. (Me not computer very good.)
I agree that it would get confusing for the blind draws at cons to not have a card to know the breed and gender and traits of the wyrm. I could suggest that the info (if you have it) for all the con stock wyrms be on one big print out. You can then announce it to the person doing the draw as they pull the wyrm out. If they want to write the info down they can come back later after the rush dies down.

I love the idea of us doing our own card art for those unique wyrms (such as my Maidinn, the Royal Baby) that are still in the registry queue waiting for art. So many of us are artists anyways! When I am done with some commissions I will do that.

I've always leaned towards physical at conventions, digital for bred babies.

P.S. if someone really needs to know the traits on a baby that isn't registered yet and doesn't have a card made, just PM me. I can always send you a list of their features.

I'm really keen on the idea of digital cards, as long as we have easy access to the wyrm's traits and genetics. Physical cards sound like a lot of work, and of my six wyrms, I only have two physical cards. I don't need them overmuch ^^

I like having the physical cards. I like having something in hand to reference at cons and when at home. I actually used to carry Calla Lilly's and WasabiWonton's cards in my wallet for a long time since I was too paranoid to take them out of the house. lol But digital cards for online and bred babies are fine too.

I think I agree that i'd prefer the cards to be present at con stock (to be able to look at and pass on the info to those waiting on those pickups or for personal interest), but online and digital doesn't seem too necessary/big of an issue.

I like the physical ones though I do miss them being laminated, but I understand why they come in sleeves instead. It's nice to have them though.. I really need to print the ones I don't have when I get a printer (cause I have my own laminator now xD). My trading card collecting history make me want them.
