A Quick Question Concerning Royals...

... Seeing as there are such pretty pictures right now in the baby pictures thread. ^^

What exactly constitutes a Royal baby? Do both parents have to be Royal, or does only one have to be...?
Or is it only a Royal if the trait "wyld majick" had something to do with the breeding?

I'm just curious since I've only seen Tiri/Rii-haku breedings so far, though I can't find any babies made from the prince/princesses.

The two 'royal' parents are Rii'haku and Tiri.
Only their direct, pure-blood offspring are considered Royals.

Wyld Magic gives random colors/special traits (D has a list and rolls dice) to their offspring, but only in the case of pure-blood royal babies, I believe.

Princes/princesses offspring babies will not have Wyld Magic effects and are treated like any other fairy cross-breed.

Ah, that clears up my question then. ^^ Thanks. So the prince/princes cannot produce Royal offspring, only the TirixRii-haku combination.

The princes and princesses are considered "minor royals", and any babies they make with non royals are "demi-royals". (None of the royals will breed with each other, and in fact have been known to viciously bite Handlers who so much as suggest it) While these lesser royals don't get the wyld magic, they tend to throw very pretty genetics and make shiny babies.

Breeding a Bloodwing to anything other than another Bloodwing wouldn't get you anything other than an extra grumpy Tatterwing anyway.....we've said that repeatedly, and its in the Breed info in the write up section. The ONLY way to get a Bloodwing is to purebreed, otherwise you lose the spiffy traits. Breeding a Bloodwing with anything Fairy requires a 50/50 dice roll, if it fails the Bloodwing simply consumes the egg, and the intended mate is drained enough to be unable to produce any offspring for the remainder of the season. If it actually succeeds, the resulting baby might as well be a Tatterwing crossbreed, since hybridizing a Bloodwing negates the special bloodline features.
