Alright y'all....in the interest of getting someone on board and "trained" in time to help with Anime Boston, I'm putting a deadline of this Friday for any applications. Please make sure you follow ALL of the instructions to qualify for consideration.

Just to let you all know, I am compiling all your submissions to a website for myself and D to go over.

You are more than welcome to submit multiple examples.
Artists have been asked to at least submit one attempt at a Growler (difficult), and one at some other breed they feel more comfortable with.

I am more than willing to replace older attempts with newer ones up until the Friday deadline.
Please make sure you are providing your best work.

If resubmitting new photos, please let me know if you are replacing any older examples, and make sure to reply to your initial application so I can keep things organized.

You can submit, in full, on Friday, but please keep in mind that I've been asking artists to do both:
1. A wyrm breed you are comfortable with.
2. A growler head (which is a difficult breed)

So if you are waiting until Friday, please include both.

Try to pick which ones are your best ones.

Just wanted to chime in real quick with a few points.

Growlers are a pain, the ears are tough to get right, and the tiny snout plates are hard to sculpt properly. But they aren't the ONLY tough breed.
Imperial Fu's are also rough, due to their facial markings and horns.
Other "trouble" breeds to sculpt can include Shriekers, Tunnelers, Resplendant Fantails....it really depends on the sculptor, but multiple breeds have tricky bits to the, that can be hard to sculpt just right. Any of these will work as examples of "hard to sculpt" breeds.

And a note about pics. Make SURE when you photo your Wyrm heads, you get close up details. We need to be able to see the plating, the mouths (cracks at the corner of the mouth are a common problem) ....open mouths or mouths with the derp tongue are another good indicator of your ability...properly cutting an open mouth without cracking or having thins/weak spots is key. Remember, there's a fine line between cute and expressive, and durable. Durability is a VERY important factor, particularly since these are clay items, some with thinner pieces that stick out and are prone to breakage.

Also as a note...I absolutely intend to have multiple Skype sessions with whomever we chose as "lessons" as far as the particular quirks of how I sculpt, and important details regarding the different species. This is not going to be an overnight thing, but I DO want to get someone set and trained asap. The sooner we have a secondary sculptor helping ut, the sooner I can increase the availability of Wyrms to those who want them, while shortening the wait times.

And as an FYI, anyone applying should be comfortable with signing a basic contract, which will include a non disclosure agreement. Just trying to dot our i's and cross our t's. ;3

Hello all!
Firstly, I'd like to offer my sincere thanks for those applying for the position of assistant sculptor for Cruinndrac Farms. We got a bunch of applications, and the talent and enthusiasm of all of you really blew us away!

That said, Zia and I have gone over all the applications, and picked a few we thought were able to produce the most workable replicas of existing CDF style. It was a tough choice, and I wish we could say yes to everyone, but in the end, we hope the choices made will become strong members of the CDF family, and enable us to bring Wyrms to more people.

So, stay tuned, we will be announcing the new Staff members shortly. And again, thank you everyone for your time and efforts! <3
