Wyrm Book - Gathering Photos!!!

Ok, since we have a toooon of Wyrms in the registry now, and I'm working my tushie off in spare moments, I figure I'd better open an official topic for this.

I've said that I want to put together a book about Cruinndrac Farms, and the Wyrms. It includes the background short story, info on each Type and Breed, photos, drawings, and specifics. I envision it as a sort of combo book/bestiary. It will explain details about each Breed, their habits, all that fun stuff. And I'll be doing sketches for detail shots, but ideally I want one or two good, clear, well lit, preferably outdoor photo showing an example of each Breed. This is where you all come in!

Want your baby to be the model for their Breed pages in the book? Think your little fluff can strut their stuff and strike a pose with the best of em'? Submit links in this topic, and I'll pick photos to represent each of the Wyrm Breeds. Mostly it will be teacups, as we don't actually have one of every Wyrm Breed in Standard and larger sizes, BUT.....if you have a larger Wyrm and want to submit their picture, please do! The more examples we can show, the better.

There are two caveats to this.
One, the photos need to be well lit, (natural outdoor light works best) IN FOCUS, and show as much of the Wyrm as possible. I'm specifically looking for photos of the little ones posed in their natural habitat. Think discovery channel. Pose them so it looks like an actual nature photography type of picture. This can include props, food, nesting materials, whatever you like. Unsure of if your idea is canon for the Breed and their habits? The fanfic section of the forums has a number of short write ups on different Types and Breeds, but if you have a specific question, ask me and I'll do my best to respond! Most of the Wyrms are pretty self explanatory, and their Type should help give you an idea of their proper setup. Mountain Wyrms, for example, obviously should be in hilly or mountainous habitats. But if you are unsure, poke me to check and I'll confirm the proper info.

The second thing to remember is that I do intend to try and get this book published, which means photo submitters MUST be ok with their work being included in the printed versions, and by submitting photos for consideration you give your legal permission for the pictures to be used as such. By way of compensation each photo will be credited to their owner in a 'contributor' page of the book, and if desired, I'm also happy to put a link to any online gallery you would like to include.

So, feel free to post links to the photos here. Remember to take your time, post your best example, and if your picture is chosen, have a 300DPI file available. I'm posting the list below so we can keep track of the pictures chosen. This will also serve to show good examples of the kind of photos I'm looking for. ***Please note, full body photos as well as closeups of faces are needed! So don't be afraid to submit both!! ***

I was just wondering about the Marine wyrms..... I would think to not have them submerged in water and since you wanted them to actually be outdoors how it would be possible to make a real looking environment.

Since you don't really want to submerge the wyrms in water (That would not be good at all xD) you could possibly pose them with those plastic aquarium plants or figures (If you happen to have them) or pose them in aquatic looking situations (I have a small pond outside, or maybe a park or such has a water attraction you can pose your wyrm next to, and not necessarily in the water portion.

Those are some of my ideas anyway xD

Yeah, obviously an ounce of common sense when a wyrms natural habitat would hurt the physical wyrm itself is in order. By outside, I'm mostly referring to lighting. Indoor photos, unless you have the proper setup, are chronically bad lighting. A good example of an outdoor marine photo could be a setup w fake aquarium plants, or even better, a photo shoot at the beach or near a body of water. A perfect example of this is that photo Kai took of the Nudibranch she traded to Year. It was at the beach on some rocks by the water.
Remember, even marine Wyrms aren't necessarily IN the water 100% of the time, so some creative interpretation is fine. ;3

Is there a date you want them by? I think I could take some cool pictures at the lake over the summer or really pretty scenery places in Italy/Europe ^^

In a perfect world, I'd love to get them all before AC, but let's be honest....we don't live in a perfect world. Besides some fall and winter shots might be neat too.

Let's say I want to have them asap, but hard deadline would be before December 1st.

My Domestic Dogs Natural Habitat is the Dreaded Ugly Couch, where The Tv remote is carefully guarded and all possible snacks are up for grabs... That being said, I am going to start snapping photos. >:)
