PayPal Protection Coverage

I apologize in advance for the long post, but it's very important so please read it as it will affect all transactions going forward.

As some of you may have been aware or personally dealt with the former-player Aizui, many did not receive their wyrms and if they did, many were broken or damaged due to poor packaging. This has now been going on for several months and after receiving no attempt to wrong the situation, Aizui was removed from being a member at Cruinndrac Farms.

Additionally at the time, D requested that I attempt to file a claim with PayPal because they offer PayPal Buyer Protection which is supposed to cover if you receive your item damaged, receive the wrong/inaccurately described item, there is a major color difference, or you never received your items. All of these things should have protected me since I never received Junzhu (which if you have, please PM me and let me know), the wyrms I did receive were broken and one was the incorrect color. I filled a claim with PayPal a few weeks ago and finally on February 14th they decided that "After careful consideration, we're unable to decide this claim in your favor at this time. The item violates the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy. It's ineligible for PayPal Buyer Protection."

This offered me little to no support as to why my claim was being denied. Upon further investigation, I discovered that "Custom-made goods that aren't received" are NOT covered by PayPal Buyer Protection. So far this is the only reason I have found why my claim should be denied. Since wyrms and the majority of artwork is considered custom-made goods this will affect anyone who tries to buy or sell wyrms. After talking with D, Cruinndrac Farms will be looking at alternatives to PayPal for those who do not wish to use them in order to protect all buyers. PayPal will still be accepted for those who feel comfortable using it.

TL;DR: PayPal does not cover custom-made goods (which in their eyes, wyrms are considered). CDF will be looking for alternative options. Please be careful of who you buy and trade with as CDF unfortunately cannot cover wyrms other than dealing with players involved and therefore trading/selling is done at your own risk.

Update to said story:

So two days when all of this went down I spent far too long on the phone with PayPal arguing with a guy that I didn't care if it took me almost three months to contest this (mind you all of this happened right before Thanksgiving, then MFF, then Christmas, then New Years). The agent from PayPal said my original claim was denied because they solely focused on the package being damaged and that it took me almost three months to report it, and they did in fact contact Aizui who responded to them. After going back and forth with him that I should be covered for 180 days like their policy says, he reluctantly agreed to re-open my case and he made sure to note that I never received some of my 'product' (the correct wyrms) which is half of the reason for contesting this case in the first place.

Two days later, the report is no longer in my Resolution Center and has been reclosed. This time the message showed: "Upon further review of this case, we have granted the seller's appeal. The seller may contact you to request that you return the refund that was previously issue to you." Obviously this greatly confused me since I received no refund from Aizui at any point. So time for another call to PayPal.

According to the agent I spoke with, my account should be credited the amount the claim was for within the next 72 hours. Fingers crossed that something comes of this. I will update this further if anything should come of it.

I would think/hope sincerely that you get your refund. If you dont, I'd contact paypal again. She needs her account flagged so she is unable to do this repeatedly to others. As is, she violated their TOS requesting people pay her friends and family, and despite her trying to delete some of her posts the forums have records of our responses.
