Glass Eyes for Sculptures

Hey guys! I'm doing my first large sculpture with a wire armature and sculpey. It currently stands a little over a foot tall at its highest point. I was looking to buy some glass marbles or some semi-precious stones to use as its eyes. I'm picturing something similar to those used in the wyrms, but a little larger to fit the size of my piece. Does anybody know a good place to find something like this? I tried my local Michael's but the ones they had were too big and meant for plant displays.

Oh, and I'll definitely post pictures for critique at some point!

I've searched on Etsy but I've had a hard time finding any that would be the right size. Most of them are 14-16mm which I think would be too big.

Could you maybe commission or create some? I know some fursuit artists cast resin blanks you could paint or have painted so long as they're the right size?

What about using round gemstone beads?

They come in lots of sizes, and there's definitely more than one source for them. ^_^

Another option you might consider is purchasing eyes from a taxidermy supply website, they can have great prices of all sorts of eyes with different sizes!

Also if painting eyes is something you would be interested, this place has great pricing for blanks. These are more doll proportioned.

I've been dabbling in resin casting myself. If I can't find anything to buy casting them could work! The only problem is I don't have the steadiest hand for painting.

I've thought about using round gemstone beads; they are the closest to what I'm picturing. My only worry is seeing the hole where a string is meant to go through. Do you think that'd be an issue?

Edit: I bought some glass beads today and I plan to run a bake test on them tomorrow.
