Wyvern Wings and Things

Hello all!

I was thinking about breeding my wyvern and noticed that he has one set of wings but three traits for wings. None of them are specific as to what they are for.

http://twilightdays.org/wyrmwiki/index.php/Mordecai
Avian (xX)
Wings (xX)
Wings (xX) (Dragon Type-A)¢
Wings (xX) (Dragon Type-C)¢

This is kinda confusing. So, if I were to breed my wyvern with a normal wyrm, would it have a different type of wings if all the wing traits don't transfer to the baby?

Another question, if I were to breed him with a pure Avian, would the baby be more Avian-like than wyvern-like? In other words, would the baby have a clay torso, front legs, neck and head like a wyvern? OR would it be a fuzzy upper body like a wyrm? I've been hesitant about breeding him because I don't have a clue what it would look like. lol I'm hoping that he will be more fuzz and less clay, but of course that's up to the artists to decide the standard.

Also, any good suggestions for what wyrm type I should breed him with? I'd like to breed him with another wyrm, but there are so many types to choose from!

The wyvern has three types of wing genes. Specifically, it has two dragon traits which are carriers, and one wyrm trait, which is showing. Due to the fact that these are small, and wings are a pain in the rear end to do, they don't display /all/ the wings they have the genes for. It is artist's discretion as to which ones show up, but they will always have the genes for it.

If you were to breed it again to another Wyrm, you have, again, the chance of it rolling each of the three traits. If you, for example, lost the Wyrm-wing trait, and had only the dragon wing traits on a baby, it would still be 'our' style of stiffened felt wings, but they would look more like the dragon style wings.

The more you breed a Wyvern with either parent-type, the more it will resemble that type.
For example, there is a 2nd gen dragon-side Wyvern that has four legs and a fluffy tail.

No one has, thus far, bred a Wyvern back to a Wyrm, but you are correct. It should look more like a Wyrm, but may still have stubby forelegs.
Obviously, someone must do this and see how exactly it turns out.

Experimentation!

Ahh! Thanks :3

Another quick question. He has white around his eyes.. Is this a form of benign white? It doesn't show on his card. Id like to know if this can be genetically passed to the offspring. Its on the face of of a few pure avians, is it a hidden gene?

It's because the parent is a blue-jay.
Most of the natural animals carry some measure of their markings when they are crossed.
How long it lasts... well, no one knows until they experiment with it.

Its the same with feline and canines.....not necessarily a genetic trait, but a tabby has stripes, a cheetah has spots, etc etc. Purebred RL animal based wyrms will ha e appropriate markings. Crossbreeds, people will ha e to experiment and see. ;3
