Colour Genetics

Hey! c:
I've got a question on colour genetics and stuff. ^^
Say if I were to breed Reth and Banshee and use my colour charm to make the baby black, would it work? Because Reth has the black gene but I am not sure if it will make the offspring black.
I hope this makes sense. ^^

Reth is: RRYYBB
Banshee is: rryyBB

Their possible offspring are: rRyYBB (gray-brown)

There really isn't a point in color-charming as you only have one possible color outcome.

If you wanted a genetically black baby, you would need to cross two BROWN parents, or two BLACK parents.

I have a question on this and I don't mean to hijack the thread. I was wondering how color dominance worked. I am breeding a male that is rryYbB and a female that is rRyybB. I'm wondering which colors are the most likely to occur? Would it be blue because both carry it or brown?

Most likely to occur would be blue or a variation of blue (green or purple)
This is because both have a dominant gene for Blue and getting the dominant gene in the offspring would be a 50% chance.
The other genes both would be a 25% chance in getting and brown would be a long shot since the probabilities of getting a dominant gene in yellow red and blue are low

It's what I thought. I'm familiar with the genes and such from snake breeding, but the colors, not so much. I think you and Arazia went a long way in helping me figure that out! Thanks!
