I know this question has likely been asked, but how do you get the larger wyrms? Is it based on availability at cons? Must they be bred? For instance, if I wanted a standard royal or a giant Jaio-Di?

There are sometimes larger wyrms available at cons, such as my standard pipefox Kettu.
However, you are correct in that the most common way is through breeding. You can use the 2x tokens to have your breeding go up up to two sizes larger. So for example if I bred two teacups and used one I could go up to either standard or great as the offspring. Another way is to breed a pair who will already produce a larger baby. For example, breeding a teacup and standard will only get you a standard. Breeding a standard and great will get you a great, etc. as wyrms cannot breed downward.

The exception is with a mini wyrm. You could breed a teacup to a mini and get either a teacup or standard offspring. BUT if you breed a mini to a standard, you will get a standard baby.

Shadra got it all! The only wyrms with a bit of an exception are the Tesla.

Also, please note that any time you breed 'down' in size, that the offspring will be simplified. Obviously, a Tea-Cup won't have the detail level of a Standard, and a Standard won't have the detail level of a Great Wyrm. Some traits only begin to show at the larger sizes.

Royals are ONLY available through breeding. And the handlers are highly selective of the breedings. You currently need two +1 breeding tokens in order to get a royal baby.

Oohhh... didn't know that, that makes sense. The page just lists them for purchase and didn't know it was such an involved process. I will keep that in mind.
