Announcement: Summer Breeding Season Limits

Greetings.

With the Winter Breeding Season babies from last year still being worked on, and the Summer Season already delayed, we're unfortunately looking at doing a smaller season which we hope to open sometime in early August, but, as always, that depends on how much we get done in the meantime.

Due to the fact that this will be a smaller season, there are going to be some limits.

1. There will be ZERO Leviathan slots for the Summer Season. Zero. None. HMS needs a break from Leviathans.
2. There will be ZERO slots for Great Wyrms available for the Summer Season. HMS has expressed an interest in working on her commission queue instead.
3. There will be 10 Standard-Wyrm slots, with no more than one per person.
4. There will be 100 tea-cup slots, with no more than 3 per person. Please submit your requests in the order of preference.

If you are under the age of 18, please be aware that we will now ask for your parents' contact information. Your invoice and a copy of our terms of service will be sent to your parent/guardian to review prior to purchase. Anyone who is dishonest about their age to get around this restriction, will face a ban from the game.

Slot numbers will be assigned at the /end/ of the season, so you may submit as long as the season is open.

If, for some unknown reason, all 100 slots are not taken, then we may allow a fourth slot to be taken in a round-robin manner after the close of the breeding season, but we find this /very/ unlikely.

For the sake of fairness, if we have more requests than slots, HMS has requested that we handle it by doing a round-robin style where some people may only get two slots so that others have a chance at getting a Wyrm. Example: We can have 33 people all getting 3 tea-cups, or 50 people all getting 2, or 100 people all getting 1. We will try not to let clutchmates get left hanging if possible, but you may want to arrange with people getting clutchmates to make sure you set the same priority.

We understand that this will be a bit troublesome, but we want to make sure everyone gets a chance at Summer Babies. This will be our first season with new sculptors, so we need to see how much they can do and balance this out with a very heavy convention season coming up.

We expect to do a small 'farm' season sometime in September, with an additional 10-ish tea-cup slots for those who have specific breeding projects.

We expect a slightly larger season for Winter 2013, since we have two-three months convention free between December and February.

Bump.
The Great Wyrm slot is now CLOSED.

I spoke with anyone who had already expressed interest in a Great Wyrm for this upcoming season, and they've all changed plans or gotten pushed off to other seasons.

HMS hopes to use some of the time from this season to work on backed up commission queue work.
Many of these requests were taken almost a year ago, so it gives her a chance to work on Wyrms/other artwork for those who have been waiting.

Given the extra work for a tesla and in an effort to alleviate the backlog, I am thinking of removing Cogswell from the summer season for breeding.

Thoughts?

?

Your getting a standard right? Teslas don't have any extra work then any other breed in terms of complexity for a standard. *sans rares and blessed standards-and some of the weirder hybrids*. Also summer breeding has no effect on the winter backlog. as Summer won't be starting until AFTER the winter babies are done.

also with the ten slots for standards, it means whoever gets their standard requests in and approved first will get the slots for standards.

So removing him isn't going to have any effect on the backlog of winter babies. Summer won't start until all the winters are done.

It's your choice, but Kai put it well. Heh, besides, I have my tesla breeding scheduled at #1 (depending on if there's going to be a farm season or not) 'cause I want one so much. :-)

Bumping for a question...do the upcoming breeding season limits mean that one person could hypothetically get three Teacups AND a Standard? Or is the limit per handler going to be three wyrms of either size and the Standard would just take the place of one of the three wyrm slots?

Also, one of the breedings I'd been planning on is a Rii'Haku x Tiri mini...does that get counted against the Standard or Teacup allotment?
