Alright so, Spiny Puffers like Asana are an updated version of the Spiny Sand Sifter correct?
Say I were to breed Ciino (A sand sifter) with Asana (a spiny puffer). Would the baby be a purebred spiny puffer then since they are the same breed, just one is the newer re-named version?

If yes, does ANYONE out there have a +1 token they snagged from Etsy who would like to donate it toward a spiny puffer breeding? (You and I would use the +1 on Asana to get clutchmates.)

Edit: Or since Asana has no breedings, if I bred two spiny sand sifters would I GET a spiny puffer due to the upgrade?


Double edit on potential colour combos: (this is more a note to myself I guess? Since I have a colour choice charm on the way...)

Ciino (rryYbB) x Asana (rryybB)
rr only, yy or yY then bb, bB, or BB
works out to be-
rryybb (white), rryyBB/rryybB (blue), rryYbB/rryYBB (green)

Ciino (rryYbB) x Summer (rrYYbb)
rr only, YY or yY, then bb or bB
works out to be-
rryYbb (yellow), rrYYbb (more yellow), rryYbB (green)

If you were to breed a Sand Sifter with a Puffer, it is my understanding that you would get a pure-bred Puffer.
The same goes for if you bred two Sand Sifters, the new version is the Puffer, so you would get a Puffer.
It is simply a redesign/rename. Same with any other design change.
If you breed an old Qui-Lin with the 'plating' with a new Qui-Lin with the 'spots' you would get the new style.
