Funny Conversations with Parents about Wyrms

I just got home for reading week and my mum didn't get a chance to see Cei before she got to me. ^^ So I showed her Ceilicia, my swirl snout, which sparked an entire conversation about wyrms.
My mum was really amazed by HM's skill and creativity and wanted to see ALL the wyrms. So we went through them all and I showed her some of the ones I was getting babies with.
The funniest was her reaction over the Royals and how she wanted me to get one of those. She wanted me to 'buy' Tiri, and I had to explain to her that I couldn't, but I could breed them if I was lucky enough and got a 1+ breeding token.
So she's now insistent I get a royal baby because she wants to play with it. cx
So, anyone else have some funny conversations with your parents about them? I'm an adult [20+] but it was still really quite amusing. xD
Zia, feel free to move this if I put it in the wrong place I just thought it would be funny to share and see if anyone else had any other funny things with their parents. xD

I tried to explain to my husbands mother about designing a 'Habitat' in an old glass fish tank that has been in my garage since I got married and She just laughed. I thought It would be a fun way to display my wryms but apparently she didn't think so.

Hekomi, you have the kind of mum I think everyone wishes for. She sounds seriously awesome! Not only someone who appreciates art, but someone who is supportive of things you enjoy and even wants to share your interest! My own mother is happy for me that I've found something I can do that pays the bills (mostly, kind of) but is still baffled that I don't want to get a "real job" and not have to work so many hours and late nights. >u<'

I was actually REALLY surprised by my mum's reaction! She is usually very against things on the internet, but she is an artist herself. ^^ She was really impressed with the detail on Cei since she had tried to use sculpy and things before and hadn't been able to get much variety. xD But she's told me I shouldn't 'buy too many more' but if I do to 'focus on the little ones'. Then I showed her the water elemental and she was just stunned by your work. 8D
But yeah, she really likes the royals, for their wings. She kept telling me to forget the wyrms I bred and get those two. xD She just loooves Tiri.
I really want to make some sort of habitat but the only thing I have is an old hamster cage and I really don't think that'd work the best... I think if I clear off some shelves in my bedroom I could probably put it in my room here over the summer. xD Maybe my mum would get me something to make them a home. Parents are just an odd sort of folk aren't they?

Its not really my parents that I have to worry about any more. My husband on the other hand kinda just stares and wonders why. I try to explain my love for these guys and what they mean to me and he is so sweet withy saying "hey! They make you happy so go for it" but I think really he just sees it as fair game to buy repluca videa game guns ;D
He was very supportive with helping me set up my habitat and said soon I will need a whole room for these haha.

I wish I had the same sort of support. My mother thinks they're a waste of money. She said so when I got Asana. Then I explained I enjoy supporting the arts/artists who live off their work and how much I enjoy the breeding game, etc. She still doesn't get it but she'll have to get used to it considering I do plan to get more. lol She was there to witness me bouncing around excitedly with Asana and will just have to see the same again when I get more babies. As for my fiance he thinks they're cute but doesn't have an interest in getting his own. I offered to give him a squeaker through the breeding program though and he said sure. I may ask to keep it on my shelf though. I feel his cats would murder the poor thing. v.v (My wyrms have their own shelf at home which I am going to make into a habitat. When I go to college they always come with me.)

My Mom finds Wyrms kinda interesting. But she thinks I am too obsessed because whenever I have them around she is like; "Oh.My.Gosh, the WYRMS! They keep appearing in my dreams." So yeah, apparently Wyrms haunt dreams, isn't that awesome? XD But my Dad thinks they are a waste of money sometimes and that they are feather dusters, i'm just like no. -_-
Have any of you heard of the musical, Wicked? Well one of my sisters is so obsessed that she wants me to get her a pink Wyrm so she can call it Glinda, even if it's a guy! XD

*laughs* My parents, when I gushed about these guys, got rather glazed around the eyes. My husband is supportive (Darkhorns is technically his Wyrm) but mostly allows me to be weird about it all.

My this makes me feel old, but seeing some of the others in my age group post, I feel not that 'old' anymore. As I'm in the whole married and not living with parents anymore group.
When asked by my folks what they where, they understood art peices that I take photos of. and that works just fine for them.
I've hit that age where it's gotten much harder for my family to find birthday or xmas gifts for me, as I can and do buy what I want now. So for the last year they paid for my entire Winter breedings as well as abit extra for my Big boy to be. Same with my in-laws and surviving grandparents.
My husband has no real option of them, they are just another one of my many collections, one that I happen to take photos of, I'm also the owner of six asian ball jointed dolls. So this is normal! And it gets me out of the house to take photos in and around Pittsburgh, which is also a plus!
My brother is the owner of Amethyst, and he's intrested in breeding his wyrm but is selective as to who he'll breed with and has no real interest currrently in the social aspect of the game. *aka i need to sit his butt down and get him to finish his registration!!!!* / his wyrm lives with my group actually./ He's looking into getting more wyrms and breeding them, but really just likes them for their cute factor; which is fine and awesome! /I know some people don't like that some people buy them and not take part in the game 'more so if they get limited wyrms, like my brother's flickering fairy wyrm' , but I have no issue with it, My brother owns her to own her and loves her because she is adorable and his favoriate color.
