hello!

I'm mostly only active with the dragons, as I got some at Arisia. However, I followed links to the wyrms, and now really want a fox wyrm. Sadly, I saw no obvious way to tell which are foxes, so would probably have to hope someone breeds them at some point, and I can get an offspring.

Anyway. Hi!

If you go on the website, under 'search by type' there is a type called 'Pipefoxes' which are the most fox-like.
There are relatively few of these right now, because they take a lot of work to create, and they are only in the larger, standard-size.

If you want something smaller, but fox-like, I'd point you at the 'Mountain Wyrm' type, which has the 'Growler' breed. They have big, floppy ears, and have a somewhat canine-ish look to them (with their little teeth). There are more of those and they come in the tea-cup size, so that might be right up your alley.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh! Sorry, I meant 'tell by looking at egg charm or equivalent'.

Also, I thought one of the three listed was a tea cup sized one. I'm guessing that that one was far too much work, and thus not going to be repeated?

Thanks for the alternative suggestion! Will look more closely at them when on a computer instead of my phone. :)

Well, because Pipefoxes are only made in standard or above now, it means that you actually get to see them before you purchase. They aren't blind-draw like the tea-cup sizes.

As for the smaller of the Pipefoxes, I think you might be thinking of Dmitri, who is a Mini (a discontinued middle size) but he's basically considered a standard.

The Pipefoxes take a lot of work, but I'm sure HMS will make more of them over time. There's always a gamble that a Wyrm doesn't get registered, so I know there's some more out there that have just never made it into the breeding population.

Hey there Wisp! Welcome to the Squirm. ;3

Yeah, pipefoxes are currently not offered in Teacup size. The upside to this is that they are just out to see at conventions, so you know for sure what you are getting. (All standards and larger are out and visible, not egg charm blind draws)

But yes, Zia has a good point. Growlers would probably be the closest thing to Pipefox in design in Teacup size. And honestly, their eggs are fairy easy to spot. Just pop onto the Chickensmoothie group and ask around, and I'm willing to bet the Handlers there can tell you what to look for. Or ask around the forums here! Some of our more experienced Handlers have made it their goal to become expert egg pickers, and they've actually gotten quite good at it. ;D

Ah. Problem with this is that I really only go to Arisia. Any plans for Arisia next year?

Finally got around to looking at some. No wonder I couldn't tell; the mountain wyrms had no photos. :)

I kind of adore http://twilightdays.org/wyrmwiki/index.php/Foamy - Foamy. Tongue sticking out to link things! Ears up in an alert and curious sort of way! Hee.

Growlers are, indeed adorable. Now I kind of want one of those _and_ a standard pipefox.

HopefulMonster: I may have a chance to ask other people to get me a wyrm or two at conventions. Is it possible to know ahead of time when there will be a pipefox available?

Hey I know you -points-
If I go to any cons this season and see a pipefox (and have the money) I'll pick it up and offer it to you ;)
