Breed: Loaf (Common)
Type: Bakers Wyrm

It looks like bakeries in the area are having some odd new visitors in their kitchens! These shy, yet quite chubby, bready wyrms are not what you'd expect as a normal loaf of bread. They tend to hide in fear of being mistaken for actual food (which happens more often than not), especially with other wyrms. Once they know that they won't be your food, Loaves can be quite friendly and helpful in the kitchen! Just be careful not to bake them a second time...they don't like that too much. Bakers Wyrms create themselves using ingredients handy to them, and are always looking to create more of themselves. They can come out of your oven when you least expect it!

Possible (but not required) traits:
- Dapple (in brown tones, white, or off-white, like seeds)
- Speckle w/BW (BW is like frosting only not actual FROST)
- Frost (because you can totally freeze your bread!)
- Banding (depending on the type of bread)
- Harlequin (you can totally half a half n' half bread loaf!)
- NEW TRAIT: "Drizzle", either carefully planned, or carelessly placed, markings along the head and snout. Pattern may vary. Most common in off-white (anyone else craving cinnamon rolls?)

Image

Features:
- Loaf-shaped head (length may vary)
- Brown-toned bodies because...they're bread.
- Tones indicate the doneness of the loaf. Nightmares, in this case, would be considered "Burnt".
- Eye color may vary, but it is believed that altered eye tones are the result of berries and fruit within the loaf.
- They do have tongues, but you have to be careful as they may nibble on each other.

Additional Ideas Regarding Bakers Wyrms:
- Babies or Teacups are considered "Croissants" or "Crumbs"
- Additional Commons could be like Rolls, Bagels, or other plain-esque breads.
- Uncommons would be closer to pastries and donuts.
- Rares are a bit more elaborate and upscale like cake slices (or full cakes?)

The idea of the Bakers wyrms was based on an ongoing joke conversation in the Telegram chat when D's speech-to-text kept autocorrecting "bred" as "bread". Thus, the idea of bread-themed wyrms was born. The idea/lore of these wyrms being Bakers (similar to Teslas in a way) was devised up by Linden. I can't take all the credit of the idea of these wyrms. :) I guess this is a result of a late-night wyrm chat gigglefit.

Breed: Mosscrawlers (Working name, may be changed)
Type: Swamp Wyrm

Mosscrawlers were initially discovered as someone spotted what they thought was a new species of moss or fluffy looking fungus due to the various bright colors, but was then discovered to be a little colony of Mosscrawler wyrms. Their natural defense is to curl up in a ball and camouflage as moss or fungus, hiding their head -which resembles a rock or stone itself- under their fur. Most Mosscrawlers tend toward more “natural” colors with accents of brighter ones, while Mosscrawlers with the Agate trait typically have brighter colored fur as the norm. While a very shy creature, the Mosscrawlers are very friendly and it’s seen as a sign of trust and friendship for one to use their handler as the base for their fungus camouflage. Their diet consists of things not generally thought of as “food”, such as algae and dead leaves and even sometimes woodchips, earning them the nickname “mulch munchers”. In captivity they will happily devour anything in your compost bin. They love fruit peels as a treat! In the wild these wyrms are found mainly in swamps and wetlands, preferring the humid climate and proximity to water. They are excellent swimmers, though they do live most of their life on land. These wyrms do very well in captivity, as long as they are allowed to indulge their semi-aquatic nature. Beware though, they are very prone to wallowing in mud puddles!

Mosscrawlers tend to have a favorite rock, anything from a little pebble to large river rocks, to geodes and crystals, and they will insist on taking it everywhere they go if it is portable.

Traits Shown in Pictures:
-Speckle (with Benign White)- Very common for this breed, as is Dapple, Ink Spot, Harlequin, and any other trait that causes spots or blotches.
-Markings - Also common to the breed, but the trait tends to show more on their cheeks and along the jaw as well as above the eyes.
-Underbite- There is a 50/50 chance of ANY Mosscrawler to have Underbite.
-Special Side-Note: If a Mosscrawler has horns, they tend to be small and nubby.
New Trait:
-Agate - Uncommon Trait- The Wyrm’s face is a single base color with rings of random but typically cohesive colors that wrap all the way around its face. The rings can be any width, there can be any number of them, in any number of colors (at least 2 in addition to the base color), and they are never perfect straight lines. Any other traits the wyrm may have appears over top of this one, it is always a base.

Breed Standard Example
-Speckle (with Benign White)
-Markings

Variant to showcase Agate trait

Close-Up Altered to show an example with Underbite

Breed: Donut (Uncommon)
Type: Bakers Wyrm

Bakers Wyrms create themselves using ingredients handy to them, and are always looking to create more of themselves. They can come out of your oven when you least expect it, invading kitchens all over the world! Donuts are the life of the party; always striving to be the center of attention (despite looking like a sweet treat).

Possible (but not required) traits:
- Dapple
- Speckle ***Includes Rainbow Speckle
- Banding (depending on the type of bread)
- Harlequin
- Benign White
- NEW TRAIT: "Drizzle", either carefully planned, or carelessly placed, markings along the head and snout. Pattern may vary. Most common in off-white, but also in other "flavors"!

Features:
- Donut-shaped head, but can be made in multiple donut designs other than the popular ring-shape.
- For ring shape, the center is not poked through all of the way.
- Donut bodies reflect the color of their traits rather than the base head color. They are very colorful!

Coastal Wyrm (Common)

Traits:
Horns
(New) Sandskin

Another new wyrm discovered along the coast, these lil buggers have a bit of a temper on them. They can zip across the wet sand at high speeds and just below the surface of dry sand. During the day they will find a cozy spot on the beach and nestle down into the warm sand. Be wary however, their horns remain just above the surface, sure to give a nasty sting to anyone that accidentally steps on them! They have a weak venom in their horn, just enough to give the toes that unpleasant static sensation of going numb. When awake, these little stabby friends will zip across the sand and bite anyone who gets too close, or make use of the small horn on their snoot to deliver a sharp little stab. Watch your step when walking along the sandy shores!

Sand Nippers tend to be lighter in color, blending better with the sand they hid in. Their horns are flat at the front, much like the blade of a knife. It causes less resistance when they are zipping just below the surface of the sand, as well as their flatter head shape. Their skin seems to have a new trait, that helps them blend better within the sand. Speckles of color and sparkle resemble the way the sand looks when the sun reflects upon it, acting as excellent camouflage. Dapple is not an uncommon trait with Sand Nippers, though is more visible on some than others.

Breed: Gilded Mine Dweller
Type: Draconic
Rarity: Uncommon

Traits:
Horns
Gems
(New) Gilding

1. Three gems placed vertically along top of head. Similar placement to that of Jiao Di horns.
2. Gilding trait. Shown on card as xx. Similar to BW and IS in appearance. Large or small splotches of gold coloration (Gold Leaf or paint) that can show anywhere on the face.
Gold Leaf is what I would prefer to be used. I have no knowledge of how difficult Gold Leaf is to work with or obtain and if not doable gold paint is a suitable replacement.
3. Non breedable trait similar to that of Plat Point dots on muzzle. Always visible on both cheeks. Metallic in color.
4. Horn is similar shape to that of Gao's but spiraled like most other horn types. The horn is always black with a gold tip except on Alphas where entire horn is gold and Omegas which have no gold.

Gilded Mine Dwellers are a newly discovered type of wyrm. Their preferred place to live is in abandoned gold mines but will also take up residence anywhere precious metals or gems can be found. Like dragons they will hoard gold and other shiny things, taking it as far as embedding the stones in their heads and applying thin layers of gold to their skin and horns. They will spend hours searching their mines for gold that may have been left behind and use strong jaws to remove it from the rock. GMD's are somewat social creatures that tend to live in small family groups but some prefer to live alone. Diet consists mainly of small rodents but they will eat bugs/arachnids when necessary.

While they may look to be rough and unfriendly they typically will stay away from fighting. Though they will get fairly aggressive when protecting their territory.
Gilded Mine Dwellers come in a vast variety of colors ranging from warm to cool and even natural tones.

I'm glad we're not being judged on artistic merit, there are some really talented artists in the thread!

Breed: Dust Wyrm
Biome: Domestic

Traits:
Horns
Dapple
Benign White (possible)
Plume (Alpha)

(Ever hear of dust bunnies? Well, they're not exactly "bunnies"...)

In order to cope with expanding human population, Wyrms are evolving to survive in a new environment: human residences. The Dust wyrm lives primarily under furniture and in dark, dusty corners. They're omnivorous scavengers, subsisting on dropped food crumbs, small insects, and the occasional cat toy or pen cap. Standard size Dust wyrms (and goodness knows where they might den up) will even pinch the occasional sock! Dusties make their nests out of dust, pet hair, loose thread, houseplant leaves, anything that looks like a dust bunny. They love to hoard shiny objects, no matter the value.

Dust wyrms' heads, eyes, and dapples can come in any color, but their bodies are primarily variations of brown, grey, black, white, and other dust colors. Their faces are soft, and bodies are short, the better to blend in to their surroundings. Their muzzles are wide, with a wide, sticky tongue and grinding molars, no fangs. They are non-aggressive, and will make excellent additions to any squirm, provided they aren't bullied by more outgoing species, like Growlers. Alpha Dusties develop feather plumes on their tail.

( Hi guys, my wyrm is still in the registry but I've been into these guys for a while. I saw this and really wanted to part take, so here you go, from your local forums lurker )

Breed Name: Wispers
Biome: Sky / Cloud

Image

Traits:
- "Wisp" markings down the center of their face, Alphas have Wisp swirl cheeks
- Twisted horns
- Two sets of nostrils
- Large puffy cheeks

Other traits, such as Layline, Frosted, Ink Spot, Lace, etc. are possible -- this is up to the CDF Team to discuss, you guys know the lore better than I ever will. I would imagine darker traits, like ink spot, be less feasible due to the biome

How many times have you looked up into the clouds at a beautiful sunset? It's a wonder all the shapes they make and how quickly it changes. These guys are who we have to thank. Wispers arrange the clouds using air and moisture tucked in their cheeks. Your average Wisper is in charge of the clouds day to day, where as the Alphas come together to make the sunsets and sunrises. And on cloudy rainy days.. well... we can talk about the Omegas another day.

Wispers blend in with their work, the standards being pastel colors ranging from blues, whites, even to pale pinks, yellows and oranges on occasion. Alphas are colored to match the beauty of sunrises and sunsets have more saturated colors as well as curled horns. Both are uncommon (it's so hard to catch them way up high!). They are very upbeat and spirited little wyrms, and very curious of life beneath the clouds. Regardless of where they are, Wispers are always trying to make the world a prettier and comfier place.

Goblin Wyrms
Biome: Caves, Subterranean
Natural coloring: Muted cool colors, earthy colors, known for normally having earthy colored bodies, but will on occasion have colored bodies.

Background and Sociology
Living in caves and subterranean levels, Goblin wyrms often work together in tribal communities. Naturally blind due to living in places without light, these wyrms often make up for it in scent and sound, which are much more keen that most. As well, they are commonly known to be very greedy, and the Alpha is usually the one that possesses the most shinies.

Alphas are usually dictated by the traits they posses, and are more often than not tribal leaders. Distinctly, instead of more nubbish horns, they have much more pointed and elongated ones, as well as seeming to have larger foreheads, ears, and more dapples. The forehead of a Goblin wyrm is very much one of the distinct features of an Alpha or upper-class wyrm in their society.

Coming in a variety of patterns that line their faces, Goblin wyrms usually have distinct markings on their heads. There are innumerable types of markings, allowing for a great variety in a community. They are always lighter colored than the wyrm itself.

The Chieftan of a Goblin Wyrm tribe, (Seen above as the Alpha,) as well have painted markings upon their faces. Each mark signifies how long they have served as chieftain, and is always colored in the Tribe's primary color.

Traits:
Dapple
Blind
Ears
Horns
Tusks (New trait!)

Platehorn
Biome: plains
Natural coloring: Browns in all shades muted yellows and some lightly colored reds and oranges to fit in with the tall grasses of the plains they live in. Plate and eye colors are always the same color. Plates can be any color but are most commonly darker shades in males and lighter in females.

Background and society
Platehorns live in warrens within the tall grasses of the plains. Warrens are male dominated but female run. Males are incharge of scouting, defending the warren and catch prey for the collective horde of food. Their diet consists of bugs from underground, crickets and some small worms and frogs. While meat from worms and frogs is eaten right away bugs are stocked in underground holes to store for the dry season.
Females stay near the warren. They check the stock pile of food and send out more hunters if needed. They also tend to and raise the young. All young are treated equal until their nose playing grows in. Once that grows in females are trained to help raise the younger ones. Males are taken out into the wild to learn to fight and taught to hunt and gather food.

Traits: horn, plate,
