From Arazia:
Hey everyone.
Some semi-finalized details on the MFF Wyrmhandler Meetup.
I talked to programming, and they won't know if there is a room available for us until they get there on Thursday or Friday. Even so, they may have far more important things on their hands than our meetup. So as of right now, I don't know if we'll have roomspace. The meetup point is, as you can see, in a public, easy to access location. If we get a room, we'll meet up at the location above and caravan down to whatever room we get. If not, then depending on the size of the group, we'll figure out where we want to go from there. Probably just find a quiet bit of hallway or open area and claim a corner of it to stay out of the way. I should be fairly easy to recognize, as I will have my Standard Wyrm Deimos with me, but I will also be wearing this: [link] bright red and yellow mage robe (probably not the full fursuit, heh!)
HopefulMonster has said that she will be providing me with a Wyrm which will be raffled off/given away/etc. to one of the attendees of our meetup. To sweeten the deal, I'm also offering to sketch a drawing of anyone's Wyrm (as long as they have it with them) in their sketchbook for free during the meetup. The meetup will basically be a meet and greet to get to see some of the Wyrms from the registry first-hand, meet other handlers, ask me questions, line up breedings, etc. I plan on bringing my entire squirm, so people can see all sorts of different Wyrms first hand. You do NOT have to be a current Wyrmhandler to attend.
Art Show:As of right now, there will be Wyrms sold in the Midwest Furfest Art Show. I do not know the current number that will be available, their sizes. Like most Art Show sales, these are done by silent auction. These will be the only Wyrms available for sale at the convention, however.
Convention Etiquette:I do encourage handlers who are going to the convention to wear their little friends out and about. The more visibility that we have, the better, because it encourages people to get interested in Wyrms. Invite your friends to the meetup, or share your interest with others to get them involved in the game.
I will certainly be walking about with some members of my Squirm. I will likely have Deimos, Branwen and/or Nibbles on me at most times in/around the convention, so I'll be fairly easy to spot. There are some convention events that I will be participating in and a few panels I plan on attending, so if I tell you I'm on my way to a panel, please respect that. I'll be glad to let you know when I'm available to chat! So, as long as I'm out in a public place (Consuite or the Hallways) then you're welcome to come up and chat. The only places where I'll ask that you don't come talk to me is the Art Show (due to needing to keep a quiet atmosphere) and Artist Alley (because I'm likely hunting for commissions for myself and I don't want to crowd the area any more than necessary.)
If I'm in fursuit, you'll have to bear with me as I sometimes have vision/hearing difficulties, so if you see a big white cat in a mage robe with lots of Wyrms, you can still come talk to me (I don't mind breaking the 'illusion' by talking in suit) but make sure you tap me on the shoulder or come into my line of sight. Otherwise, I might miss you if you try to wave or get my attention some other way.
