Wyrm Pricing!

Alright, i had wanted to avoid this, but it is simply the nature of the beast at this point.

I am, effective today, instituting a slight price increase in Teacup size Wyrms. Pre-made con stock or inline clutches will now be $25 per Wyrm, and bred babies will be $30.

There are a number of reasons for this, first and foremost I simply can't keep up with current demand, continue to maintain the quality I want to, and not drive myself into the ground. teacup awyrms are currently the most popular, because they are affodable, cute little tokens of fluff people like to collect. And I want them to stay that way! I very much want to have affordable options for everyone's price range. But I have started doing ALL Wyrm horns, including Teacups in epoxy. It's stronger, but more expensive than polymer clay. I've also been making the Teacups slightly larger that originally, which is nice, because it is allowing me to make them sturdier and a tad more detailed (I'm actually rebooting the Qui-lins to have a different style of muzzle markings, which is really cute) I'm putting more Mules into the Teacup populations, both because I enjoy making them, and becasue people seem to like them! But they usually end up having fancier, more expensive fur, feather accents....all things that result in more time and money to create them. And once I break down all the steps from start to finish, a Teacup Wyrm still takes quite a while to complete and be ready for adoption! After figuring in the cost of supplies, my time....it's simply time to take all that into consideration and ensure I am actually making an hourly wage that can pay the bills.

After some consideration, I have decided to bring Mini Wyrms back, with the caveat that they are ONLY Mules. I will make a few for each con, and occasionally post some online. But they will not be breedable, and each will be OOAK, made as the whim strikes me.

In addition, after the first of the year I will be reevaluating my pricing, and possibly going up slightly on other Wyrm sizes. Not by a great deal, just enough to compensate for the raising cost of supplies, and ensuring I am making a reasonable wage for my time. It's time for me to get serious. If i want to make a workable living doing my art, I have to not short-change myself. And if i want to branch out into doing other things, instead of being swamped by assembly line creating a million Wyrms, I need to allow myself a bit more leeway for time to work on other items. i want to do more full dolls, experiment with casting resin, doing costuming....a lot of things, that I can't really spare the time to do right now, with constantly cranking out huge batches of Wyrms. I LOVE making them, and enjoy the game, and how social it's gotten. Bt I don't want them to be the ONLY thing I am making, and at the moment....it really feels like it is.

So, thats it. In the interest of freeing me up to do new things, and try new ideas, and make this art deal work as a full time job, that's what's happening. Hopefully y'all understand.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing everyone at Furfright!!

Cheers,
-D

I'm so excited to have the mini Wyrms back! Especially if they're just mules, it keeps the exclusive element to them!
Are they going to be blind draw eggs or just sitting out on the table? And are there going to be any mini mules at FF? :D
