Figured it might be neat to see what handlers are aiming for as far as breeding plans. So, this thread is to post your goals. Not goals like "Breed Wyrm X with Wyrm Y this season" , but long term goals! Like, do you want to breed towards a Growler with hot pink plating and horns? A Swirl Snout thats all white? Or something else entirely, like aiming for your own new Breed? Chime in here! Who knows, you might end up collaborating with other handlers to build a new Type or Breed of Wyrm alltogether. ;3

Oh gods.
As if I need more reasons to collect these guys.
Anyways, I think at some point I would like to try to breed in some of the non-standard colors into the Qui-Lins. Like breeding two purples to try to get a red, or two greens to get a yellow. Not exactly grand plans, but something I'd like to see.
I'm also considering crossing my Gao-Xing with a Growler, because I think the blind eyes and the horns would look adorable with the growler ears, and I'd be curious to see how the Gao's swirly jade would work with the rocky-appearance of the growler. Although, the ears are recessive, which means that it would probably take two generations to get them to show up, and at that point I've only got a 50% chance of also having the horns show through. Of course, if I asked someone to breed another Gao-Xing with an unrelated Growler, I could then breed the offspring together for a better chance of horns, and a good chance for the recessive ears on both parents to show through on the offspring.
I.... should stop thinking about this now.

Arazia, I love the ideas...
Probably try to get a different type of wyrm from Regan maybe, or introduce a new type of wyrm almost. I can't really say waht yet, there's so many ideas...

I was going to wait until after furfright to see what new Wyrms were around before I start to make breeding plans, but I can't help but to start now!
A all white swirlsnout is actually on my list! I was going to attempt a breeding with MoonChild and some other unrelated swirlsnout to try for a pure white, or white with a coloured ? On his head!
I'd also like to try and breed new benign white patterns into breeds that don't normally have them (marine, crystal, etc.) I have a whole bunch of small projects like this that I want to accomplish eventually, breeding plates out of a line of forest Wyrms is one of them!
But I also have some really specific plans that I'll wait to reveal, but I think everyone will like them! C:

Now that I have Auryn, I've been thinking about a few things, first actively aiming at breeding the lethal lace gene to see what it creates, and putting wings of varying types on various species that don't have wings!

Where do I start XP . . .
Well my major goal is to breed my very own weird and wacky line of wyrm, possibly something with the Lace gene (I loves the swirls) At the moment I'm cruising through all the species picking and choosing the traits and colours I find attractive. In the future I'll be making a full on list and plausible breeding regime. I have plans to start when the spring breeding season comes 'round.
And at the moment I have 4 minor goals :3
One: Breed a purple growler with the lace gene. I have my eye on a special albino growler gal with a suppressed red gene that I might ask for a breeding in the future.
Two: Cross a Jiao-Di with a flutterling to hopefully produce a Zhong lung with wings (And that adorable tongue) Then find a species that has feelers to add to my hybrid.
Three: Get my paws on a breeding from Rii'Haku the Faerie King or Tiri the Faerie Queen. For this I think I must win myself a breeding charm (Or two) and trust in my lucky stars XP
Four I'm a huge fan of 101 dalmatians so if there is some way of isolating the speckled trait or creating a dominate Benign White wyrm (Benign white covering the whole wyrm) and then adding the speckled trait, I'll be very happy ^^

Um, wow. People have such detailed goals! I'd probably have better goals myself if I was more of a biology buff and was able to figure out the genetic codes (and abbrevoations) better. Right now I have two immediate goals for my squirm:
1. Breed more pure Jiao-Di wyrms. We have only three registered right now, and Okami's the only male. If my current breeding plans go through, there will be six new purebred Jiao-Di wyrmlings after the Winter Solstice. That particular type of Wyrm seems to be very popular, so I'd love to see more of them in the population! (Okami=Secretariat?? ...he IS popular! *laughs*)
2. I want to see what the "Wyld Magjik" marker does for the breeding between the Seelie King and Unseelie Queen. Our dear Wyrmmistress HopefulMonsterStudios has mentioned that those two would make impressive babies!

Pretty simple, I know, but a lot of the abbreviations have me confused as to what might happen in a breeding.

I personally want to create a new breed. I've been way into the idea since it was first mentioned, but I'm not so good at consistent genetics. In order to create the breed and make it official it'll have to have a consistent appearance/successful offspring so I'd probably need somebody to team up with.

MY only goal right now is to see what kind of weird and wonderful hybrids I can manage. This has come about mostly because the Angler Eel hybrids are SO BLOODY CUTE. I love their underbites. ^^ Also, it would be the first step in breeding towards new species, as that's essentially how they come about. However, I've also noticed Year's lovely melanistic Imperial Fu, Atilla. I'd love to try and breed enough wyrms to discover some of those "invisible" colour genes that exist in the population.

I think Ive found one goal for myself! Id love to breed a
classic dragon wyrm - green wyrm with horns and tatterwing wings!

That'd be difficult though...
