Wyrm Habitats

As of recently, my girlfriend, bitesizednin, and I have started to make our wyrm habitats. I figured it would be helpful to have a thread of all the progress and what we're currently working on. We've bought lots of supplies that range from already made things to making our own. We just recently bought this bird cage looking wall piece that was originally intended to hang pictures from with magnets. It is slightly bowed so I can stick the wyrms through without worrying about their wings or tails. Currently it has all 15 of my winged wyrms which include 8 birbs, 5 fairies, 1 hybrid, and 1 mule. Luckily it has space as my squirm expands.

We're also in the process of making a box for my zombie mini. We bought oak panels that were originally 24 inches by 24 inches. We then cut them into 8 inch squares and sanded them with 50, 80, and 120 grain sandpaper. We also bought 3 foot long dowels which we then cut and sanded into 6 inch long bars. We purchased an antique looking handle from Lowe's and hammered finish spray paint for the entire box. Currently still working on this.

The wall piece looks amazing. Mind if I ask where you got it? It looks like the perfect thing to keep wyrms safe from cats.

The box sounds like a very neat project. I admire your choice of woods, most people would have gone with pine. Oak isn't the easiest thing to work with but it has the durability that makes the extra effort worth it. Personally, I have always found pine and popular (another common craft wood) a bit too soft and a bit too easy to over work, since most of my carving is done with small knives and files.

Another in progress but def more conceptual right now is the Growler Den with Briar's growlers modeling it. They seem happy enough already. :D

The base of it is a weaved basket we found and just sketching out rock work that will be eventually attached to the structure of the basket. Thinking of doing plaster with some molding clay for finishing touches. Right now, all it has is batting mat's as the cushion but eventually that'll be something closer to a cave floor, still soft of course, but colored differently.

New Tesla Home - Looks to be an old mailbox sorter that we're going to add mechanical bits and wire to make it more machine shop organizer and keep that rambunctious group occupied with things other than our laptops.

And we've placed the bird cage above it, so this is what it looks like currently. Agent Jinks is enjoying it at least.
