Ok, so I tried figuring this out on my own, but for the life of me I just can't find much information about mules so I apologize in advance if I'm just being a total derp and just missed it somehow. I would love to own one of these unique little babies one of these days, but I'm not sure how to go getting one outside of trading for it. So if any of you have answers for me I'd really appreciate it!

Mules are generally released at cons, or during special release events here on the forums. They are unbreedable, but tend to be more fancy.

Yeah I know they can't be bred which was why I wasn't sure exactly how to get one other than trading. So they're just for sale at cons you don't have to buy a slot for one or anything?

Kitishane covered it pretty well. Mules are often hidden in convention stock so aside from trading for one, the most likely way to grab one is via a convention pull. Typically teacup mule eggs are set out on the table in the same way as regular wyrms so you cannot guarantee a mule pull. Occasionally, mules are set aside from regular stock eggs so you KNOW you are getting one. (Such as the case of a mini sized mule picked up at a convention or a batch of mules like a guest sculptor nest)

Sometimes they also show up here on the form via a sale thread from HopefulMonster or via a special event such as an auction. As for "buying a slot" to get a mule, most often that is not an option. Custom or semi-custom mules are usually involved in special events/auctions too. (Such as the Anthrocon scavenger hunts)
