Looking for fursuit ideas

I am absolutely IN LOVE with the inkblot style and really want to make a partial for myself! I can't seem to pin down exactly what I want to do, though. I'd like to use the black fur with the white tufts as seen on the possum's upper arms, head, and neck, and I'd like it to be overall very reminiscent of the "rubber hose animation" style. Any idea what species (besides a possum, I don't want to copy) and/or what type of 1920s cartoon clothing would look good for such a suit?
