ANNOUNCEMENT: Winter Breeding Season - Preliminary Notices

Rares

We noticed that there were a lot of pure-bred rares being requested during the last breeding season. In an attempt to keep the numbers of rares close to where they should be in the general population, we are instituting a limit on pure-bred rares for the 2014 Winter Season.

Each user may only request one pure-bred rare tea-cup breeding per person. (up to 2x clutchmates)
(Rare x Rare cross-breed hybrids are still under discussion, but will likely fall under this rule as well)

You may not loan out, borrow, or otherwise try to exchange these limited slots. Sorry.

Minis - Standards

The exact number of Mini and Standard slots has not been decided as of yet. However, it is likely that they will remain quite limited, with one per person. HopefulMonster will choose the larger projects which she prefers from those that are requested, rather than first-come-first-serve. Keep in mind that she is not likely to want to do a lot of the same sort of things (like 8x mini royals like the past few seasons, for example).

Wyvern Slots

Wyvern slots are currently undetermined.

Tea-Cup Slots

Tea-cup slots are not yet determined, but will likely not be unlimited, or nearly as high as the last season. As soon as we have a final number, we will let you know. If you have more than four breedings lined up currently, you may want to consider which ones are your priorities.

Payment

All payments will be taken as deposits this Winter. Period. No one will be allowed to pay in full. With how behind we were last season, we feel that it is unfair to take the full amount upfront.

*reads notices*

*checks her breeding thread*

Woo! My breeding hopefuls for teacups is 4 exactly! *does the tuscan sand raider staff-raising hollah* Though I may have to shuffle depending on if the other clutchmate folks want to hold off.

I do like the idea of the standards not being first come first serve since it likely prevents a tidal wave rush at the start of the breeding season for spots. Also, the more fun D has to sculpt, the more fun the wyrm I figure.

noooot feeling too good about this though. I kinda just like to have everything paid for in full and done, for my own peace of mind...

Unfortunately, its a necessity. Given the lag from last breeding season, this is the option we are choosing to go with. We trust our handlers to be responsible adults and put their money aside. Honestly, its the policy I've used in my non Wyrm commission work for years now. Its also the policy a large percentage of freelance artists use.

It shouldn't be a huge issue, it just means taking half the money you would have paid up front, put it aside, either in a saving account or heck...even in a piggy bank or jar, until the time comes to pay the balance.

Question: what is the deposit value? 15$?

I figured if it is going like in previous seasons, the deposit will likely be half the cost of the wyrm.

So if you have $150 of wyrms, the deposit would be $75 with the other half being paid upon completion. At least that was my impression.

Confirming amb's answer that yes, half the total price of the Wyrms is the deposit. The remainder plus shipping is the balance that won't be due until your wyrms are DONE and ready to ship.
