Hey all! I was wondering if anyone had any tips for transporting wyrms and carrying them around a convention? FTM will be my first convention I'll be carrying them around and I'm worried about somebody losing a horn or falling off their pin!

All my wyrms have their own very useful box which then fits in a bag/etc. I've never had a problem with pins falling off, but I've also never been to a convention. Id put them high on your shoulder to avoid people bumping into you having contact with the wyrm. Hopefully that helps!

well, mine are going to be in a wooden box I bought at an art store. At least on the way to FTM. Except my mini. She's going around my neck, which is her usual perch. Also, I pinned my teacup wyrms to my hat and jacket at FA:U last year, which seemed to work pretty well.

If you are worried about them losing or breaking a horn, I suggest bringing along some good glue for repairs (just in case). I use Loctite Gel super glue. Haven't had any of my wyrms' horns break a second time after that. Though, mine have only ever broken horns when they've been dropped by accident or fallen (more like... flown...) out of a tree... -.- (Long story) And I wouldn't really worry too much about the pins falling off. That has never happened with mine. And I wear them a LOT.

I pinned about 6 of mine to a hat last FAU and Kettu rode around my neck because she's a standard. For transporting, I stuck them in really useful boxes and put that in my bag. In general you could use any sort of tupperware since it's designed not to get food squished. D once mailed me two wyrms in a sandwich container.

I took Reth one day and Little Sorrel another to TFF by pinning them to my shoulder. It was a very good perch. Little Sorrel stayed good and safe even with me swinging a mallet and breaking down art show.
For over all transport, I second (or third) the recommendation of the Really Useful Box (they really are...truth in advertising) or something similar for general transport.

I use a big plastic craft storage box that has a handle on one end. I got all of my wyrms in it including three big minis. I have enough wyrms for two boxes now. I got them at JoAnn's Fabric and crafts.
I also wrap them in bubble wrap when I transport them, to protect horns and ears!
At cons, I usually have a couple of wyrms sitting at my table, guarding my stuff.

I just bought one of these today. It's a flat toolbox with moveable dividers.

So I divided it up into teacup sized things, and i'll put bubblewrap like the middle one around them, so they travel safely (or as safely as I can manage). I'm so happy I found this xD Hopefully as well with some luck I can fit a mini in there along one side too! xD

Thanks for all the advice everyone! I bought a nice box to transport them and I'm gonna try to pin some to a hat.
