I do think it sort of looks like Ocean Jasper, but you might want to get a second opinion on that C:

Such a gorgeous stone, though! I love the light Seafoam colour that it is, and it makes the red rosettes really stand out! <3

I thought it was Ocean Jasper too. The Rosettes are actually a purple color

Wow! That's a beautiful stone, Shy!

I'm not sure about the rock itself since it's polished. I don't think it's ocean jasper, though. Ocean jasper is usually easy to identify, even while polished, because of the spotted crystals. I don't see the same pattern in this rock.

However, I can tell you that the rosettes are definitely watermelon tourmaline. (:

Thanks for sharing!

it does kind of look like watermelon tourmaline but these rosettes are much darker then any tourmaline i was able to find on google.

I did some searching and found something called ruby in zoisite. It looks almost exactly like the stone you have:

A small correction, I think you actually have ruby in fuchsite. Ruby in zoisite is the one pictured in the carvings...they're very similar but zoisite generally has black specks/streaks running through it and is a bit more true-green-ish, while fuchsite has white swirls and has a tinge towards aqua-green. Zoisite is also much higher on the Mohs (hardness) scale than fuchsite is. I do agree though, that's a fantastic gift. <3

Ironically the spheres in the link are also ruby in fuchsite even though they're labeled zoisite.
