A little background: I've mentioned before that I'm working on making a breed of dragons resembling tigers, by breeding Banding onto dragons and aiming for a tiger-ish body shape (long, lean body, ear-like crests, etc.). To that end I have an Angler, two wyverns with Angler ancestry, and a Moss Collector dragon, which is the breed closest to the body type I want (along with another angler-wyvern coming from the Summer 2013 breeding season). I'm not planning on using tiger-based Feline wyrms because they don't have Banding, and aside form that marking I'd like to keep the breed as dragon-based as possible. but I traded a dragon for a Tiger wyrm anyway because she's so pretty.
From left to right we have Hypatissa (Anger Eel), Rajah (dragon-side wyvern), his daughter Rani (dragon-side wyvern), and Emebet (Moss Collector dragon). When I told them a tiger would be coming, they were curious and came to look.
As soon as her box was open, the lovely new lady was eager to get out and look around.
Of course she wanted to meet her fellow wyrm first, and squirmed right over to her. They wyverns aren't quite sure to make of her yet, but Emebet was somewhat intimidated by her energy and went to hide behind the box.
Oh, but what are these things? They look like wyrms from the back...
...But rather different from the front. They have legs! Rajah decided he didn't want the newcomer nosing around his daughter, but Rani didn't really mind.
Meanwhile, Hypatissa noticed Emebet hiding and went to push her out into the open.
Look, it's a dragon! The wyverns are part one of these! The tiger was happy to turn her attention to this new creature.
It has back legs, too? Emebet tried to bury her face in Hypatissa's fluff, but she kept inching out of reach.
And of course she had to meet me, too. When she noticed the camera clicking, she squirmed up onto my knee for a better look.
She let me pet her too, and she's the softest thing. She actually loved being petted and cuddled. I think she's convinced she's a domestic cat, not a golden tiger! She's now off getting to know all my other dragons. I haven't settled on a name for her yet, I'm still getting to know her.
My tiger wyrm hadn't been named when I took the pictures, but she's now named Sessei.
