The little twins? They're baby wyrms who are gifts to Mab for being so awesome from D/the staff.

It's all good Zia! I am more than aware that the magical land of Canada post is magical. I remember once my roomate in college went to send me my copy of Baldur's Gate because I had left it at the end of the spring semester....and it actually arrived days before I was heading back to go attend the fall semester. I imagine Hastur is giving the custom guys all the trouble. :B

I don't think the twins have parents. There wasn't a card with them (which is more than fair and cool because I know that Zia is up to her ears in forms and cards as is so last thing I want to do is bother her or add more to that pile) but from what I heard they are babies (Sort of like Ziggy ). They certainly are energetic enough!

I'm still all the giddies. It was probably the neatest way to start the new year. X3

A recent update in the journals of an angler-wrangler.

So it would turn out Hastur had arrived at long last! I gotta say, along with the super bright sunny yellow, he's SO MEGA SOFT. Definitely one of the floofiest wyrms in the squirm. XD

Hastur meets Cyndi, who was filling in for her dad in welcoming duties. Why you ask?

Seems Koro has been rather busy...

It just dawned on me that I'm getting close to having 11 wyrms total (and with winter breeding there is likely gonna be another 6 showing up) and 10 of those are angler or anglerish hybrids. XD
I would say I have an angler problem...but I like to think I have an angler solution!

They're definitely a lively bunch! And despite the rough and tumble nibbley nature, they seem to get along with each other rather well and even seem excited when they realize a new anglerlike critter is gonna be moving in. I do worry that trying to bring other types of wyrms that doesn't have some angler heritage would result in some issues since for all their tight-knitness, it does seem to make them rather territorial to other types of wyrms. At least in the case of wyrms actually staying around, visitors seem to get a pass. I expect that if a growler or heavens forbid a bloodwing were to ever try to move in, it would be not very pretty. X_x

However, in the meantime, it's a marine party over here and guests are always welcome!

Sadly when Ao arrived I couldn't find my camera so I wasn't able to document his arrival. (Lets just say that Koro, upon seeing how small Ao was, assumed he was another baby wyrm and proceeded to freak out much to the amusement of the rest of the squirm. XD)

However! Camera was found and today I got a package. This time I let the whole crew know in advance someone was coming and that it was a lady-angler from FTM which Genepi was kind enough to trade me for.

Needless to say, when the boys found out there was a new lady arriving, they wanted to impress...er...welcome her.

Unfortunately, it led to some argument about who should be the welcome wagon.

As negotiations (aka: squabbling) continued, Cyndi decides to take charge.

Cyndi was very impressed with the box. It was one of the prettiest packages ever recieved here. XD

At this point Cyndi got a little confused. While she did like the colours she could see through the plastic, she wasn't sure what kind of wyrm would have that many colours. Was this a nudibranch?

A note from Genepi. Cyndi was a bit nervous. Obviously something dangerous must be inside if it was locked in like it was. However, she steeled her nerves and...

Oh! Hello! It turns out who was inside wasn't all that dangerous or scary after all. In fact she was quite friendly and very happy to be finally here. The two instantly got to talking and I could tell they were going to be best of friends.

The new gal has been dubbed Shivaska. I was really surprised at how bright and cheery the orange is. Photos really don't do it justice and she has the sweetest face.

Shivaska came shipped in an adorable little clam shell basket with a really soft lining. Cyndi was very much impressed and offered to help move the shell into the habbie hutch.

Manwhile the boys, having finished arguing, baffle and wonder what was inside the box and how strong it must have been to escape without their help.

In the habbie, Cyndi and Shivaska hang out. BFFs in the making.

Thank you so much again Genepi for the trade. I adore her and expect she's going to fit right in with my crazy lil crew. At this point I suspect I will likely need to get to a hobby and/or aquarium store and upgrade their habitat. Especially since odds are next round about may be the arrival of winter bebes.

These are the cutest little friends a wyrm could hope for. Hopefully the boys learn that fighting won't get them anywhere.

OMG I've been enjoying reading (and seeing photos!) of how your new wyrms come to their new home I especially like how the pretty yellow one was poking out of the coffee mug...and then..."technical difficulties" XD That was awesome

I expect Koro and Karzoug will settle down in a bit...at least until the next lady shows up. I think Koro does have a bit of a sore spot about not being an alpha even though he has seniority in the squirm. Karzoug for the most part is pretty good humored about it, but the two seem to always tussle when it comes to impressing ladyfolks. XD

Thank you so much again Genepi! And the shell is really awesome too! It's definitely becoming a staple in my wyrm habitarium. And she is super adorable! One thing I love about anglers is how they can end up with very distinct looking personalities based on how they are sculpted.

I enjoy doing the silly little photoshoots even though my camera is only so-so. They're always a lot of fun and gives the wyrms quite a bit of personality to them I find. XD
