I was watching my wyrms squiggle about yesterday, and I realised that each of my girls is attracted to different objects. I was curious, so I decided to see if I could get a look at their hoards, and see what they love most.
Oula keeps
her hoard in a shady, cool part of the garden. She doesn't like the heat too much, and this little nook provides some relief. However, when I approached, she was more than happy to
show off her hoard. She shelters from unexpected showers in a bright Moroccan lantern (though if she can, she'll sneak inside for a cuddle). Oula seems to have a taste for
masks, my pocketwatch, and pretty-smelling candles. But her favourite things in the world
are pearls. She has stolen mine, and she adores my mother's string of tiny, Oula-sized pearls. She can't keep it, though, so maybe for Squirmsmas I can find her something she'll like just as much.
Trixie likes
shiny things. She likes her hoard bright, colourful, smooth and sparkly. Trixie favours small things (she is only a very little wyrm, after all) like gemstones, sea glass, little seeds and pebbles, but she adores her glass globe. She would climb it if she could, but it's just too smooth. Instead, she likes to crawl all over her
jade horse. Her soft belly fur shines up her collection as she wriggles over it.
Vula's hoard was the hardest to find, and even harder to get photos of. She is
incredibly protective of her hoard, and hides it in a difficult-to-access, dark, sheltered corner of the garden. Vula is almost used to the house now, but she definitely prefers being outdoors. Her hoard is
all natural, and she seems to love skulls, bits of horn, porcupine quills, seeds, shells and stones. Funnily enough, she only hoards things I have gathered, and completely rejects bought items (how she can tell is beyond me!). More and more, I feel that Vula was captured from the wild, and not bred in captivity.
