A good audio book makes for excellent background sound for any sort of art, at least in my experience.

Try sculpting with materials other than clay like wire. I have also had a lot of luck with a paper clay that Michaels sells that is air dry. Needle felting would be another good non-sewing machine non-oven required sculpting method. You can get needles on Amazon or eBay for pretty cheap and you can get wool or synthetic yarns to create felting fluff from at Michaels or Hobby Lobby or any other shop that sells yarn.

I'm a nerd and recommend knitting. It's meditative and one of the only crafts I could manage while in extreme pain earlier this year (had a wisdom tooth go extremely bad).

Thanks for all the ideas, everyone! I'm open to book suggestions too, but I can only do audiobooks though because of my eye issues. I like classic literature and VERY well done fantasy. My favorite book of all time is Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. Some other favorites of mine are The Count of Monte Cristo, Ethan Frome, Great Expectations, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn/Tom Sawyer, Treasure Island (currently listening to), and Harry Potter. I think I'm going to add LotR and GoT to my list. Any more suggestions?

The Keisha'ra Series, The Night Angel Trilogy, and Vladimir Todd are ones I'm into right now and have read through/enjoyed. Also the Black, Silver, and White Gryphon books respectively.

The Dresden Files audio books are very good. If you've watch Torchwood, there are some awesome audiobooks for that as well.

My surgery was postponed due to insurance issues but if you guys have more suggestions for books or activities I'd love to hear them because I will be going eventually, and thanks so much for all the suggestions so far! ^^
