Just cleaning up the forum and these were some relevant information that could be shared. Most of this information is considered well known and doesn't require re-reading unless you would like to know specifics. But these are the topics/information I felt relevant that didn't necessary need to move to Archives.

In regard to crossing possible wyrms and wanting to know about color genetics versus colored bodies and which charms to use in order to have certain outcomes.
Arazia wrote:Okay.
Word in from the 'Great And Powerful Wyrm Goddess' (aka. HopefulMonster):

default color x default color + color token = you get to choose /which/ default color you get
default color x regular color + trait token = you can choose to get the default color rather than regular color

Keep in mind that none of this applies to special fur features such as...
- Angora mutation
- Growler tail-fluff
- Zilla neck-ruff
- Flamepoint
- etc. etc.

She also wants me to remind people that while color tokens do determine the GENETIC color of a Wyrm, that it does not always determine the /FUR COLOR/ of a Wyrm.

For example:

Determining genetics when both parents carry the same trait but express that trait differently
Arazia wrote:Let's use plating as an example.

Example #1:

Parent A has leaf-style plating (XX).
Parent B has flat mushroom-gatherer style plating (XX).

The baby would have a 50/50 chance (coin flip) of receiving either type of plating (XX). You could also trait-token to ask for a specific type of plating.

Example #2

Parent A has leaf-style plating (XX).
Parent B has no plating trait.

The baby would receive the leaf-style plating (xX).

Using tokens and how they can be attached to clutchmates, this example is considered acceptable.
AnimeAmy wrote:I am trying to figure out some things for next season. I know only two tokens can be used per Clutch mate but I am trying to figure out if there are any rules on the way they are dispersed over the two.

For example could I do this.

Baby A- 2 +1 Tokens to go to each parent.
Baby B- Color token + Gender Choice.

I was mostly not sure on attaching the two +1 tokens to a single clutch mate.

Genetics and breeding traits that occupy the same space
Arazia wrote:In general, any traits that would occupy the same place usually are not allowed together. You'll randomly get one or the other. Usually, we treat lure as dominant if the baby rolls for it, since it's the rarer of the two traits.

As for glow, I cannot specify exactly how it works in all cases. It is a 'magical' gene, and thus does not carry strictly genetically. The only way to guarantee anything is to either a) breed glow to glow, or b) use a glow token so long as one parent has the glow trait.

Arazia wrote:Usually with growler ears and horns, the horns will appear, but they are smaller and often are moved inwards to accommodate, while the ears are moved outwards.

Shipping estimates as of March 22nd, 2015 *note shipping costs go up every year*
Arazia wrote:Standard Shipping within the United States:
$7 - Covers up to 3x Tea-Cups.
$13 - Covers minis and more than 3x tea-cups
$18 - Covers standards and larger orders

International Shipping:
International shipping varies by weight and country. The following are some estimates based on previous sales. Please keep n mind that our costs do NOT include any customs costs that your country may charge on import items. UK and Canadian handlers do tend to pay import taxes/fees ontop of our prices/shipping.

$13-15 - Up to 3x Tea-cups.
$16-20 - Covers minis and more than 3x tea-cups
$20-40 - Covers standards and larger orders

Possible site affilation
HopefulMonster wrote:I wanted to make this post because I've gotten multiple inqueries on the subject, especially recently.
As the games popularity grows, I know people will see an chance at making 'sister games'. Posting what I hope is an understandable and complete response to these requests.

To be perfectly frank the CDF and Es Corander games evolved between myself and Blitz together. We actually were sitting going through the systems item by item. And while the two have slight diversions from each other, and some minor differences, they still use enough of the same base system to be cross compatible.
For any other game to be a 'sister game', it would need to be built upon the same base. It would need to have the same or very similar rules, compatible traits and genes, etc. In short, I would essentially need to release the full system I am using, and all of its particulars, to the person making the 'sister game'.

After 3 years plus of working, building, tweaking, rewriting, adding and adjusting, this isn't something I have any intention nor interest in doing.

Does this mean that at some point in the future I might not be open to additional creatures or games becoming cross compatible as a sister game? Possibly. I can't make any promises one way or the other, and have no idea what the future may hold. But I can say that if another game wanted the chance to become affiliated, they would need to do a LOT of prep work. This is by no means a complete list of requirements but it would include things like;
*Having a complete and well written history and bio of the creatures involved.
*A complete and comprehensive list of all genetic traits, genes, and the system for them being passed on or not.
*Examples of the physical items being produced so we could see how well they would hybridize with Wyrms. This would include one if EACH of the breeds or variations of creature, so we can verify what would be involved/what additional supplies, if any, would need to be purchased to be able to create the hybrids.
*A list of all the staff involved in the game, their job descriptions, and a list of their experiences/what qualifies them for that position.

Hopefully this answers most of the questions folks have. I know from experience that running a full breedable/adoptable game of this nature is NOT a small undertaking. The semantics of making multiple separate games compatible, and coordinating multiple staff members, is neither easy nor something to be taken on lightly. I'm not saying this to discourage anyone, but rather to be totally up front and not sugar coat the reality.

If anyone has any further questions, feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer them. Just keep in mind I am 100% not looking to expand into additional hybrids/crossbreeds at this time, and have no real plans to in the future. So asking when I will possibly open for applications, the answer will be the same. I truly appreciate the interest, but its not something I'm interesting in undertaking at this time. IF and when that ever changes I will certainly post about it on the forums and give our community a heads up.

Cleaning wyrms and fur
HopefulMonster wrote:Yep, surface clean only, do not soak/immerse in water. Baby wipes actually work very well, as do the cleaning wipes. Just nothing w bleach.

ShadraAvro wrote:If you have it, I imagine fursuit cleaning sprays would probably work too as they are made to spritz on then brush out junk from faux fur

Using proxies in registering and breeding seasons
Arazia wrote:Usually, how a proxy works, is when you register your first wyrm, you select a person to be your proxy. They approve breedings, and handle all communications for the wyrms. When you register, you just select a username, then choose a person as proxy in the registration.

LeidyRose wrote:We were going to get her her first Wyrm this breeding season do how do I post so that she getsthe clutch mate for the 2 I'm breeding?

When the breeding season begins, we will do a form that you have to fill out to request your breedings. When requesting a breeding for her, please fill out her name, then yours as proxy. Example:

Some-name-here (Proxy LeidyRose)

When prompted for a PIN#, you would use YOUR pin#, since you'll be set up in our system as their proxy. If the items are being paid for separately and/or shipped separately, then you'd have to provide their payment and address information so we can charge them for the baby.

The easier option there would be to group all the orders under you, then it's all paid under one account and then they'd all be sent to you and you can then send on the baby once it's received.

Adding tokens to your handler page
Ponygirl wrote:Generally you take a photo of your tokens with one of your registered wyrms and send it in to Arazia (the wyrms are in the photo to verify that you have the tokens).

How to get a "mule" wyrm
ShadraAvro wrote:Kitishane covered it pretty well. Mules are often hidden in convention stock so aside from trading for one, the most likely way to grab one is via a convention pull. Typically teacup mule eggs are set out on the table in the same way as regular wyrms so you cannot guarantee a mule pull. Occasionally, mules are set aside from regular stock eggs so you KNOW you are getting one. (Such as the case of a mini sized mule picked up at a convention or a batch of mules like a guest sculptor nest)

Sometimes they also show up here on the form via a sale thread from HopefulMonster or via a special event such as an auction. As for "buying a slot" to get a mule, most often that is not an option. Custom or semi-custom mules are usually involved in special events/auctions too. (Such as the Anthrocon scavenger hunts)

These special events each have their own rules and announcements :)

Making your own handler chain
HopefulMonster wrote:I have 0 problems with folks making their own, or even making chains to share. The only taboo is using the official CDF logo. Same idea as folks doing items with art of the different breeds, they can draw their own but we can't allow use of official CDF card art.

I actually highly encourage the art aspect of the community! It's awesome seeing what y'all come up with.

As a note though, just fyi, I'll have some new handler chains at AC this year, with engraved wood fobs. Yay lazer engraver! :)

Arazia wrote:The only difference is that if you have an official handler chain, you can take a photo of it and have it put on your handler page.
