How-To-Guide: Registration

1. Take a good photo of you Wyrm. A good photo should be:
- Properly lit (outside during mid-day is good!)
- In focus
- Show the Wyrm and all their details including plumes

2. Re-size your image!
- Ideal size is no more than 600px in width.

3. Upload your image to your own site!
- Do not use someone else's dropbox, tumblr, or preview images. They often get moved/deleted.
- Upload to your own imgur, tinypic, photobucket, or personal website.

4. Name your Wyrm!
- Check the registry to see if your name is already taken.
- Check the registry queue (linked from the main wiki page) to see if the name is taken in the queue.
- Do not duplicate names, we will modify duplicate names at our own whims.

5. Optional - Provide Card art.
- Art should be resized to fit on a standard datacard. Download one if you need to figure out the right size.
- Art should have no background.
- If the art provided requires resizing and/or edits, we will reject it.

6. Check your registry status!
- The link to the registry queue is on the main page. Any issues will be highlighted there.
- If your Wyrm isn't on the registry queue, they have been added to the registry.
- Check the registry entry for accuracy.

Later today, I will be taking reg pics of my personal Wyrms. I'll see if we can put together a small tutorial on good reg pics vs not so good reg pics. Remember, it's NOT about being a master photographer, or having a super expensive camera. It's about making sure you have clear, properly lit photos that don't cause me to go even more blind trying to suss out details of the parent Wyrms when making breeding season babies! ;)

There are a lot of wyrms in the registry queue with the note 'needs card made'. Does this mean the genetics need to be figured out, or that the card needs artwork?
If it needs artwork, would it help to have someone supply art for that wyrm (as long as it fit into the card space for art?)

Most of it is just a matter of tracking down the Wyrm's information (if we have it) or trying to guesswork for the information we lost in the recent hack. The issue is that everyone involved works full time jobs, so we have to try to sneak time where we can.

It takes approximately 5-10 minutes per card to complete, including trying to hunt down genetics information and/or color datacards for purebreds.

We've made an insane amount of progress, but with the breeding season coming up, I don't expect us to get fully caught up until after the genetics are rolled for 2015/2016 Winter babies.

Is there any way we can help you? Like, get new photos or something? It's a LOT of work, and if there's any way we can reduce the load, please let us know. :-)

Nope.
We've got a system now and it's working well.
We expect the queue to be cleared out sometime in January.
